1992 Chrysler Lebaron Questions & Answers
Transmission slip?
IS it due for a service?
That's where I would start,
As it just sounds like bands are starting to slip.
Car misfires but doesn't stall once it has warmed up
Yes friend, that misfire is just that. Called a dead cylinder. Could only be a dirty or faulty injector. Do a ohm-meter test on the unplugged injectors and a compression test on all cylinders with all plugs out if you don't find a faulty injector. Could then be a faulty exhaust valve needing attention.
Shifting problems
Check for cracked vacume lines first. The trans shop should be able to get or make a new wire harness and plug it in.it shouldnt be real expensive.
Convertible top doesn't work
My 92 LeBaron top quit working but we can still operate it manually. You just need someone on each side to manuever it.
How do you put a timing belt back in time after it broke?
Well, hopefully the valves were not damaged when the belt broke, If no valve damage was done, get the engine/crankshaft to top dead center, line up camshaft sprocket to timing mark and install belt around pulleys, gears, replace water pump if needed, tension belt if no automatic tensioner is used, try to start to see if it runs and hopefully it will. Might be time for an engine if valve damage was done. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at
