SOURCE: Both malfunction indicator light and electronic throttle control warning light is burning after I had my 2006 jeep crd overland serviced. The car is losing power wile driving. What do I need to solve

have the fault codes read and replace the faulty units. Ask the service person if they pressure cleaned the engine as that quite often causes problems with water getting into the connections and shorting out

Unless you have a scan tool or have a friend that has one. You will need to send it in for diagnostics. A code reader may provide some information but will not show live data. The EPC warning light, also known as the Electronic Power Control warning light. The PCM has identified a fault with your Volkswagen's throttle system. The throttle pedal, throttle body, traction control, cruise control or wiring could be to blame.

I have an 2008 F-450 6.4 diesel . Put the truck in neutral to slow down and the engine died. Now the wrench light is on and it won't start .

It should be noted that the ETC - electronic throttle control system includes a warning indicator, wrench warning indicator, on the instrument cluster that illuminates when a concern is present. Concerns are accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and may also illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). (check engine light ) Ford Electronic Throttle Body Failure Diagnosis

What does it mean when the warning light comes on that looks like a lightning bolt between two lines

That light is the Electronic Throttle Control Light or ETC Light. When this light is on it is warning you that there is a potential concern with the throttle control. It is best to get the vehicle to an Authorized Dealer at your earliest convenience. However if the light is on and flashing you may experience a racing/rough idle or engine stalling and your vehicle may require a tow. In this case get your vehicle to an Authorized Dealer right away.

I have a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria the wrench light came on and the car slows down. Can you tell me what should be. Thank you

Torque Based Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) -It should be noted that the ETC system includes a warning indicator (wrench light) on the instrument cluster that illuminates when a fault is detected. Faults are accompanied by DTCs and may also illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL).
The Generation II (Gen II) torque based electronic throttle control (ETC) is a hardware and software strategy that delivers an engine output torque (via throttle angle) based on driver demand (pedal position). It uses an electronic throttle body, the PCM, and an accelerator pedal assembly to control the throttle opening and engine torque. The ETC system replaces the standard cable operated accelerator pedal, idle air control (IAC) valve, 3-wire throttle position sensor (TPS), and mechanical throttle body.
You should take it to the dealer or an ASE certified repair shop

While starting vehicle ETC warning display vehicle not throttle

This is a warning that something needs to be checked. This happens a lot when a vehicle is jumped with a dead battery. You may have to take to dealer and have ETC reprogramed.
Throttle Control Warning Light More and more vehicles are doing away with the mechanical throttle cable between the driver's foot and the engine throttle body, replacing it with a "drive-by-wire" system. In this system, a throttle pedal sensor sends data to an electronic throttle control computer, which evaluates and relays the throttle request to a specialized electronic throttle motor on the engine throttle body.
The throttle motor opens or closes the actual throttle blade, which increases or decreases the power output of the engine. The throttle control warning light illuminates when a problem is detected in the electronic throttle system.

Reduced engine power

Have the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes ! Do you know what electronic throttle control is ? The gas pedal assembly has electrical connector an sensors inside ,hooked to the PCM / ECM - engine computer . The engine computer uses these position sensors inputs to control the DC motor on the throttle body to open the throttle plate to control the speed . Plus there are position sensors inside the throttle body to input PCM/ECM to see if it's calculations are corect . Your best bet maybe to take it to a qualified repair shop .

Reduced Engine Power Mode
When the PCM detects a condition with the TAC system, the PCM may enter a reduced engine power mode. Reduced engine power may cause one or more of the following conditions:
• Acceleration limiting--The control module will continue to use the accelerator pedal for throttle control; however, the vehicle acceleration is limited.
• Limited throttle mode--The control module will continue to use the accelerator pedal for throttle control; however, the maximum throttle opening is limited.
• Throttle default mode--The control module will turn off the throttle actuator motor and the throttle will return to the spring loaded default position.
• Forced idle mode--The control module will perform the following actions:
- Limit engine speed to idle by positioning throttle position, or by controlling fuel and spark if throttle is turned off.
- Ignore accelerator pedal input.
• Engine shutdown mode--The control module will disable fuel and de-energize the throttle actuator.

Electronic throttle control light

The throttle is a fly by wire type, no more throttle cables, when you press the gas the computer reads that via a throttle pedal sensor and then commands a motor on the engine throttle valve to open the throttle to the desired power setting which it reads through yet another position sensor at the throttle valve on the engine. You have a problem somewhere in the system. What you need now is the dealer to troubleshoot the complex system and find out what is happening that is triggering the warning light for the throttle control..
