There is a cable that attaches to the inside door latch release handle. The plastic that retains this cable is most likely broken. I have seen this before. If the retainer is not holding the cable sheath correctly, the entire cable moves when the handle is pulled and does not release the door latch.

Remove the door panel and inspect this cable. You will see 2 cables (one is for the door lock). If the plastic is broken, you will need a new interior handle assembly.

Hope this is helpful!!

My 2009 altima s driver's side door wont open from inside or outside thought door was frozen shut so pulled handle hard to try and open now cant open door

You will need to take inside door panel loose which is a little hard with door shut but it can be done and probably replace door Handel if the Handel it's self is not broke it's most likely just a little plastic clip that holds the rod to the lock

Driver door will not open from inside

take your door panel off and see if your cable is connected to the inside door handle. It does open from the outside right? If your cable is connected or if the door does not open from the outside either, you will need to replace your door lock actuator.

Dirver side door won't open from inside car

The pull rod from the inside handle to the latch mechanism has probably fallen out of the lever. You will have to remove the door trim and put it back in. It will be held in by a plastic clip that break on a regular basis.

The driver's side door on my 2003 Nissan Altima will not open from the inside.

The interior door panel will need to be removed from the door. The linkage is no longer connected to the lever- it will need to be reconnected with the window in the UP position. This is a common problem when someone locks their keys in their car and uses a coat hanger to "pop" the lock. The hanger catches the rod and pulls it out. If you did not do that, someone may have targeted your car and attempted to break into it.

The driver side door will not lock - the other doors lock and unlock using the electronic key, but the driver side door will not ock either electronically or using the key.

the lock mechanism itself of the driver side door is the problem.

you may try lubricating the lock mechanism and you might un-tangle what is binding in there.

something could have stuck in the locking mechanism.

tnx 4 using fixya,
