My lasre turns over but
Spray some starting fluid in the air cleaner. If it starts then you know that it is a fuel problem. If it is a fuel problem then it is more than likely the fuel pump. Which is in the gas tank. Could be a relay. I believe they are under the hood on the drivers side. You should be able to swap it for the one next to it temporarily. If it starts when you swap the relay then go to auto parts store and take the relay with you.
Hope this helps you. Please check yes if this helps you!
1992 Plymouth Laser 2.0 L AWD turbo charger
It could be a bad Oil Pressuere Sending Unit, that unit sends a signal from your engine block to your guage to let it know what your oil pressure reading is. If it is bad just purchase another one and replace.it is very easy and you can do it yourself. You might want to check why your Check Engine Light is on also. You will need a OBD I scanner to find the trouble Code.

It shuts off and wont
Your problem could be caused by several different things. If the service engine light is on, I would recommend you have the vehicle scanned for trouble codes. Auto Zone can scan for trouble codes at no charge, but not certain if the have the adapter for the OBD1 system you have.
The first thing I would check is the fuel filter, if it has not been changed in recent years I would start there.
Second, when the car shuts off, verify you have fuel pressure, if the pump is wearing out it may be seizing up and has to cool down in order to start working.
Third, your crank sensor is failing, this will cause a "no spark" condition. Once it cools down it will allow the engine to start again.
Fourth, the ignition module may be failing caused by the engine heat. Again, once it cools down it will begin to work again.
The next time the problem happens, open the hood, remove a spark plug wire and place it near the engine block or spark plug, crank the engine over and see if you have spark to the spark plug. You will then know if you have a fuel delivery problem or an ignition problem.
Good luck, let me know.
Timing a 1992 plymouth laser 1.8L
set it to top dead center and clock cam gear. align timing belt and release tentionor i belive. if u replaced the belt recently then it shouldnt need replacing for awhile.
Transmission problem
it is not a main computer problem but the transmission control module. the engine speed sensor sends a signal to the main computer(ECM) which then in turn sends the signal to the trans mission control module. the cost of this can be pretty steep if you go to a dealership, however if you go to a local parts place like Napa the cost will be half. one last thing to check is to have a diagnostic scan tool hooked up this will tell you what codes are showing and i'm sure there are some. ythey will clear the codes for you. also if a solenoid inside the trans mission is the problem and sometimes they are because of gummed up fluid they can replace it for even less.. hope this helps...please rate this thanks
My 1992 Laser won't start.
sounds like the switch on the back of the steering lock has packed up,if i had car in front of me i could soon check it out.Try hot wiring it with a paper clip to see if it starts
Idle surging.Plymoth Laser
It should be on the manifold close to where the thermostatic housing is located. it should be a one wire connection. Also helpful tip, go tp autoparts store and ask to see the sensor that it is calling for your car. That will also give you and idea what your looking for.
Balance shaft belt broke, This
Remove distributor cap temporarily showing the rotor,. Have some one hit the starter switch and crank engine. Observe rotor turning. If not, a gear or coupling on the crank shaft is either stripped or disengaged.
Remove valve cover and see if valves are cycling. If not, camshaft is broken and needs to be replaced. Consider a new short block.
If rotor doesn't turn, there will be no spark.
