1993 Ford Crown Victoria - Page 6 Questions & Answers
My 1993 Ford crown vic the driver side door needs
It is possible to adjust the door however you need to be sure that there is no play in the hinges. Open the door and look at the latch and striker (where the latch goes against). If there is wear on either part then the hinges are probably worn. Lift up on the door and check for excessive play. If play is present the hinges should be checked and replaced if necessary. You may be able to adjust the door to the correct position if there is little to no wear in the hinges. The hinge attaching bolts need to be loosened but left snug. A floor jack with padding can be installed under the door for support. Move the door to the desired position and retighten the bolts. It may tke several tries before you get in right. It helps to make the hinges before moving them so that you have a refernce point. Good luck.
The rear and the dashboard lights do not work.
This is an easy fix, this sounds like a blown fuse, check the fuses under the dash on the driverside, check them all or look for the fuse labeled park lights or tail lights or dash lights if you have a book for the car (manual) look up the fuse location or just check them all, good luck have a good day.

I don't know about your vehicle, but in many cars it's a fuse/relay box.
Get up this morning car wont turn over, charged
These cars have the top post batteries, so the next step is to clean the cable ends, and posts on the battery. Even if they look ok, a small amount of corrosion on the inside or a loose cable stops these cars. They make a tool to clean these, but a teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of warm water and an old toothbrush should get you going. Don't forget rubber gloves, the acid burns!
What is the cause if engine hard starting
Is the theft light flashing fast when you turn the key to the ON
position? If you hold your foot on the gas will the engine start and
run?
The problem you are having is usually caused by one of the following:
1.
Fuel pump. When the problem is happening listen for a whine in the tank
behind the rear axle. Try banging on the fuel tank with a rubber
mallet.
2. Fuel pump and PCM/EEC power relay. Tap on those relays in the relay box next to the fuse box under the hood.
3. Crank sensor. Wiggle the connector on the sensor located next tp thecrank pulley behind the a/c compressor.
4. Idle air control valve. Tap on the IAC located on the back of the intake.
And re-check to make sure that the inertia switch in the trunk did not trip.
Also make sure that the theft warning light is not flashing rapidly when
you turn the key to the ON position.
Hope this helps; keep us updated.
Where is the main fuse on 1993 crown victoria
Under the hood, remove fuse cover the main fuse will be in between the positive cable coming from the battery and a ground cable. Follow the positive cable coming from the battery to the fusebox and the fuse will be visible.
WhenI push the gas pedal
The first thing I would check is the engine coolant temperture sensor. Check for codes. Check the air and fuel filters. All of these will cause your symptoms. Let me know and we can go from there

Look under your car for a sway bar. The ends of this bar are held by 1 bolt on each side along with plastic bushings. The swaybar should be visible hanging straight across the rear differential cover. They are subject to rust and breakage, and aftermarket parts are available. They may be also called "Swaybar links".
Check for noise from your rear seatbelts. Sometimes the ends get pushed under the seat and they rattle when the car shakes. Also check the spare tire. The jack on your spare tire can be touching the rim and will rattle. Sometimes the jacks on Crown Vics and its sister, the Grand Marquis are mounted separately behind the carpet on the passengers' quarterpanel. They are held by a twist screw and it can back off over time.
I hope my solutions help you find your problem. Thanks for using Fixya.

Possible that your blinker module is going bad. It is located in your fuse box under the dash, and it looks like a little silver barrel, about the size of a half-dollar. Just pulls straight out. You can get a new one at any auto parts store for under $10.

The cable may be corroded internally. I recommend you install a new cable from the battery to the starter. Make sure you disconnect the negative battery terminal before removing the positive battery cable. Let me know if this doesn't solve the problem or you have more questions.
I went to start the car and heard a brief noise as
I can't remember if this is a non interfierance cam or not but you can check to see if your cam is turning by pulling out a spark plug and having someone crank the motor over while you hold your thumb over the spark plug hole. If it doesn't push air out of the hole then you don't have compression. this can be caused by a couple things but I would guess your cam isn't turning. You could also take off the valve cover and look at the valves while it's turning over too. If they don't move then your cam isn't spinning. Just be careful not to get caught up in any belts or pullies while it's cranking over.
