1999 Nissan Quest - Page 5 Questions & Answers
My nissan quest is crank no spark i put new timing belt new spark pluck new crankshaft sensor n new distributer still no start
putting on a timing belt for your nissan is a delicate process, it requires a lot of experience, attention to detail, and precise installment. its not like changing a filter. unless you are an experienced tech, or had one do the proceedure, avoid it. the details like setting #1 piston to top dead center, before removing all the items to get to the belt. and positioning the cam gears, etc., etc., etc.,.............thats most likely what your problem could be, just sayin.........................talking from experience !!!!!!!!!!!!1
Nissan Quest 1999 Van - rear wiper seems to be running even if there is no key in the ignition and drains the battery, pulled RR Wiper fuse 10 Amp and it did not help. When the key was inserted into r
If you pulled the correct fuse for the rear wiper (Under the Dash) (or under the hood?) sometimes there are 2 fuses. But if you pulled the correct fuse and you still have power going to the wiper, I would pull the fuse on either side of the wiper fuse socket. With the wiper fuse socket empty, pull the fuse on the left or right one at a time, check for power at the wiper motor each time a fuse is pulled. When you find the power source then you'll need to trace your wiring where the wipers and say for example the dome light meet. I can almost bet the wires have rubbed or something like that and are feeding power to each other. Maybe a melted wire or like what I found on my sons car was that the back side of the fuse block had melted from him running all those high power stereos. He melted the block and the connection melted together. Hope this helps.

The
following are the general instructions on the start of diagnosing any
electronically controlled engine or transmission problem.
The
engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only
for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the
transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in
most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory
of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as
the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done
is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system
for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for
engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained
technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then
based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the
correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer
replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other
basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with
the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine.
The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear
engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related
problems. Also engine mechanical problems ca cause many
drive-ability related problem such as rough idle and other symptoms
