On my Alero, I have to have the fan on at least "1" for the A/C light to come on when I press it. The A/C functionality seems based on the the fan being turned on at least. Perhaps if you replaced the fan switch (or maybe just clean the contacts if possible), it might solve your A/C issue?

Put the key into your ignition and turn it 2 clicks forward to the "run" position but don't start the engine. wait a few seconds until all lights are cleared, oil light should still be present. Now fully depress and release accelerator pedal three times within five seconds. If CHANGE ENGINE OIL lamp flashes it means system has reset itself

There's a valve between the front and the back that is supposed to open automatically. I have the same problem on my 1994, but in reverse, I get AC in the front, but it just blows hot in the back. I was told that this valve might be stuck... but no one would tell me where it was or how to get to it and no mechanic wanted to fix it for me. Apparently, if you can find it, it's easy to get it unstuck. Good luck.

Sounds like yours is not going to last a long time.. Plan on replacing or rebuilding it soon. The rolling in park.. is a problem with either the shift linkage or the parking prawl is broken. (inside the trans) Take it to a trans shop and get an estimate.. they will tell you what is wrong with it. Take it to 2 or 3 shops and see if they all tell you the same thing. they should not charge you to check it, if they want to charge you... go somewhere else.

autozone can help with that, they sell cans of the stuff and a gauge to tell you how much pressure to put in, its pretty straight forward, you may need more than one bottle.

See diagram posted on radiator housing or download picture from internet site. Use wrench, or hand, to pull/push slack adjuster away from old belt. Place new belt around all pulleys except the slack adjuster Pull slack adjuster to slack position and place belt onto it. Mine is so easy to move that I can move it w/o any tools just with my hand.

do you have the owners manual ? check for any object that may have got into the locating latch a small stone would be enough to stop it engaging/locking in place

im assumming you checked the fuses it should be in the fuse center under the hood and the lid has a legend

Disconnect the hose from the gas tank under the car nearest the ground and drain it into gas cans. Or sell it on Craigslist with the provision that the person needs to retrieve it out of the tank at a discounted price. Don't smoke near it when trying these options and turn off all cell phones!

The 2001 is the last year of the original vortec spider injector design. The poppet valves tended to get stuck with varnish after a while. There is a drop in upgrade that I have been thinking about for my '96 with the same problem. But I just can't afford it at the moment. GM went to an individual injector, like the drop in unit, in later years. I've seen great reviews for people that upgraded. Sometimes when you go to read your codes you might find a p0305 or something like that which will tell you what cylinder it is. With this you could just replace just the one tube, but if you're going to have it apart, you might as well change it all. Either with original or the upgraded version. good luck.
