i have a 1993 chevy suburban and just replaced the thermostat, because addmissions wants the surburan to run no higher than 160f . Well the thermostat works but dosen't kick in untill it reaches 2

new gasket (or RTV gasket material) put in new thermostat (spring down) and replace bolts. Do not over tighten and torque down each bolt alternately using approx the same force you used to remove them
