Lets start from scratch. Have you check for spark? On all cylinders?

The INST LPS fuse is for the illumination circuit for things like cluster, radio HVAC, etc..

Sounds like a ignition control module failure. Check for spark at a spark plug wire. No spark then suspect module failure. Good spark-- Suspect possible fuel delivery problem. If spark is good then fuel pump may have failed.

You need the right part on that Cutlass to make that Cutlass running man that's just like going to a doctor and say I need a heart transplant when it says all well I'll give you a heart transplant and then you wake up with a new liver and it's like I need a heart transplant and instead of a heart transplant you get a new liver then you're like I didn't ask for a liver well doesn't it all run the same

run the fault codes indicates a problem crank/cam position sensor that is failing from internal short and getting hot

The valve body is getting worn. There are little plastic BB's in them that wear down and start failing. Rebuild the transmission.

Have you read out the diagnostic trouble codes? Since the check engine light has come on, there should be one or more stored diagnostic codes. Since your 1992 is before OBD-II became the standard (in the US at least) you'll need to do either the wire/paper clip method or find someone with an OBD-I scan tool for GM products.

WHAT ABOUT THE IGNITION SWITCH

Don't forget the dash light dimmer control,it could be in the off mode (fully dim)or defective.

Disconnect the battery from the vehicle for at least ten minutes before reconnecting and the computer should reset to factory OEM settings, if this does not work, the dealer will have to reflash and format the ECM
