I think you are having the same problem I had.

I found that if the Bass was turned on then you couldn't access the equalizer.

Once I had turned it off, no probs. To turn it off simply press the bass button on the top of the player.

That problem is due to loses in power button.

did you try the hard reset button thats located behind the player? that could have got struck due to dust. Clean it before punching it.

update your system drivers and media player. then plug in your player to system

you need to install latest Windows media player. Sony devices have been technically hooked with Windows media player for all windows machines.

click home button ---settings---languages---change to required language.

I am not real sure about the Sony Walkman but most of the MP3's I have owned have a pinhole that can be used to reset your player, If yours has the pinhole you can take a small needle and put it in and it will reset it, I have had to do it because of a corrupt file was causing me problems and the reset repaired the problem. Also have you looked in your history folder on your computer for the website you are searching for?

Often the cord that connects the walkman and computer just needs to be replaced.

I did erase all from the device main menue after having copied them to my computer, that cleared the remaining files and recovered part of the memory. Then I did reformat from the same menu and recovered the entire memory! ;)
