Princeton VF723 monitor is getting

i would start looking for a nice 22" LCD monitor.
Your monitor was manufactured by phillips and this symptom is very common. The crt gun gets week and has low emissions. The vid card driver has very lillte to do with the brightness control. However if your card is one of the newer nvidia or ati cards there are control ls in the software for brightness. color temp. contrast ect. Doesn't hurt to check but my guess is monitor.
Check out a LG or view-sonic for new ones.

I cant understand anything! where is the solution?

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I doubt you will find a circuit diagram for a monitor. They are NOT user servicable.
IF you want it repaired, take it to a repair shop. IF you cant understand anything, just get a new monitor.
It would cost you more buying the equipment to diagnose the faulty part, then buying the parts IF you can buy them. A new monitor can be had for about £90, it could cost you alot more to try and fix it

Princeton monitor, model # vl1916 Wont power on.

Hi, Billman11, maybe you can repair or maybe not. You need to tell me some stuff first. Need the approx age of the display. Next thing! Does the monitor have external power supply? (black box, sit on floor type) or internal (line cord to wall outlet, and other end to monitor) What exactly happens if monitor is connected to afully booted PC with known good vga output and u connect the flat screen lcd and push the power button? Is lcd panel still pitch black? no flicker or anything? Can you see the power on led indicator even?? From waht you already described it sounds like a Switch-Mode-Power-Supply failure. Each lcd monitor has 2 or 3 printed circuits inside under metal shields beneath the black plastic case covers. In your case, we will want to investigate the board that the line cord plugs into. That will be the smps board, or the little black box on the floor. If you want to try fixing this monitor you can get back to me at louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel@ aol.com Yes, I'm a vet and spent a year on Kanghwa Do, Korea 67-68 Work for company that provides electronic hardware/software to the gaming industry and located northern Illinois. I have no sound on

No sound driver is needed for the built-in monitor power speakers (just think of it as a Powered PC speakers built-into the monitor). Are your PC sound card and driver and setting OK? Try feeding the monitor with sound source from MP3 player to see if it works OK, To repair the amplifiers in the monitor will not be worth it since you can spend the same amount for a good set of Powered PC speakers instead with much better sounding.

I have a 17 inch princeton monitor and the screen

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed PRINCETON monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Monitor would randomly go black.

Have you tried updating drivers? Type in your model number plus "driver" on google and you should be able to find what you need.
Also, it might be losing power.... Have you tried using a different power outlet for your setup? That should help you narrow down the possibilities.

How do I change the size of the image of a

You can't change the image size as such actually on the monitor but you can change the size of the image feeding the monitor.
In windows right click the desktop, click properties in drop down menu then click settings. The setting should correspond with the native setting of the monitor which is 1280x1024 pixels and that is what you should set it to.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

The screen is very blurry and difficult to read.

  • There is a possibility that there is a problem with the cable your using. Try to check the pins and make sure it is complete or try to use other cable monitor to see if you will still see the same issue.

We have a Princeton LCD1711

The monitor has a bad inverter board problem that drives the back lights behind the screen, the only way to fix this is replace the part, or attempt a repair on the board, but if the work is done by a professional it may not be a cost effective to repair the unit, probably cheaper to replace.

My Princeton 17" Monitor display

Welcome to Fixya

First thing to do is to check all physical connection of the monitor if both ends are intact. Install the driver of your video card. If you have other computer, try to plug in the monitor to that computer, just to make sure that the video card of the 1st computer is not the problem.

Please reply back to this email for any update.
