I have a lexicon omaga drive but when i hook it up...

Don't know what OS you're running. Omega has published drivers for Vista and 7 64-bit versions. They say they don't support XP 64, but when I hooked my unit up to my computer and the hardware install wizard came up the OS found and installed Microsoft published general USB audio device drivers for all inputs, midi, and mac USB channels of the Omega, and automatically set it as my default device. I hooked headphones into the Omega unit and could hear system sounds. So far so good. Went to My Music and fired up an audio file. Windows Media Player started up and the song started playing but I couldn't hear anything. Opened the same file with Audacity, could see the VU meters bouncing, but still no sound in my headphones. Went in to the preferences of Audacity, and manually set the speaker default to the Omega mac USB device. Hit play again and voila! I had sound. Closed the file, started WMP manually, went in to options, and again set the speaker default to Omega mac USB. Opened the same audio file and this time it played just fine. The driver files Windows used for my card were
C:\\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\ksproxy.ax, C:\\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\ks.sys, C:\\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\ksthunk.sys,
C:\\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\portcls.sys,
C:\\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\stream.sys,
C:\\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\USBAUDIO.sys,
C:\\WINDOWS\System32\ksproxy.ax,
C:\\WINDOWS\System32\ksuser.dll,
C:\\WINDOWS\System32\wdmaud.drv,
all version 5.2.3790.1830
Hope this helps everybody else with this problem.

Ive been able to record and now i cant record bcuz

It sounds like you have NOT connected via the recording software.
It is like the normal Windows software audio has hijacked the audio system even though it is external.

Go into your recording software and look for an option to select the Lexicon device. You did not tell us what recording software you are using.

This is not an uncommon problem with these external audio recording devices.

I was tring to record with audacity and my mic

Make sure the mic level is correct. Many of these units require line-level inputs which is much higher voltage than a mic puts out. You MAY need an impedance matching transformer for your mic.

I am totally lost!! All I have is the lambda

All it needs is a USB connection. You'll need to go into Cubase device setup and make sure your lambda drivers are selected. Then create the audio channels in cubase with the inputs set as the inputs you're using for guitar and mic. There is a monitor button right next to the record enable button that needs to be enabled if you want to hear playback from your computer.

Good luck!

It doesn't record from instrument input

You likely have not got the driver installed correctely. In Windows type machines OFTEN you must install the software driver BEFORE the device is tied to the computer. It sounds like you are on an Apple machine. Look for cautions regarding connection before software is installed.

Change language to english

The best way is to un-install the software and re-install it with the English option... this is the ONLY practical way. Use the "ADD//REMOVE" programs in the control panel.

G 'day I have just been experiencing a scratching

That could be the problem but on similar interfaces the sockets are more of an issue so it could be that the last time you pulled the lead it dislodged something in the socket which is causing an earth loop by touching something else. Usually more related to jack lead sockets rather than XLR sockets though.

Try putting an XLR lead in and out of the socket a couple of times with your monitors off (so you don't pop them) which might clear up any socket issues.

Is the scratchy sound a hissing scratchy sound or a metallic kinda sounding scratch? - Hiss would indicate faulty socket/lead in my mind, metallicy would be more to do with the components/transfer to the PC and as you suggested the phantom might have overloaded it, is it in warranty? If so try trade it for one that works and don't forget to only use Phantom when you need it...
