Buy a faster printer. And, no, I'm not being a smart-aleck HP rates this printer at up to 32 pages per minute -- in fast draft mode black ink only... But even their ratings show it takes over a minute per page when doing quality printing in color. And those speed ratings are all "after first page" -- ALL printers take longer for the first page due to the time it takes for the computer to set up the page and process the information. As the specs suggest, you can get faster printing in black-only instead of color and by choosing fast draft mode instead of quality or normal mode. There is very little that could be wrong with the printer that would make it print slower than usual -- generally any problem would make it not print at all or cause it to print incorrectly. Generally speaking whatever speed you see is simply the speed of the printer itself based on the settings you have selected, the software you are using, and the speed of your computer. You can refer to the information on the HP website. It is just possible that replacing the printer driver MIGHT help but other than that there simply isn't much you can do about the speed of this (or any) printer unless you want to choose a lower quality print setting. Remove 5 screws from rear cover and remove it Open the right door to expose 2 screws holding right cover, release tab and remove Right Cover disconnect 22 cable connections and 6 flat cables from the DC Controller PCB Disconnect 3 intermediary wire connections and release the cables from the cable guides on the top and right sides remove 4 screws from the 4 corners of the DC Controller Remove PCB

On your Control Panel press the HOME button once then open : Admin Manage Supplies Reset Supplies New Fuser Kit Then use the Down ARROW to highlight YES then press OK

Fuser needs to be replaced. Part # RM1-6180-000CN Open right door Fuser is at the top squeeze the 2 blue handle to release the fuser and pull straight out. Install new one by just sliding in place until it "clicks"

It needs a new cartridge

Not a function of your printer. This can be accomplished in the software if that feature is supported

49.4c.02 error is a firmware error. Very rarely is a "49" error cause by hardware. First remove the network or printer cable and reboot. If the printer comes ready the problem is with a print job waiting to be printed. Most likely a PDF file that the printer doesn't understand how to print. On a windows machine Start, Devices and printers, locate your printer and double click then click on "What's printing" and delete any files waiting to be printer. ( You'll probably see one on the list with the word "error" on the line

This error is indicative of a motor not working properly. Reseat all cartridges and drums and remove and reseat the belt. I've seen the belt cause all kinds of issues.
