The amp or pre-amp for the vocals built into the unit is failing when it gets warm. This is a common problem with electronics, that when it cools down cures itself until it warms up again a few seconds later. The units need repair or replacement.

Digitech is a brand without a maker, so probably made in China and a 'sell and run' company. Flood the market and vanish, no aftersales service provided.

Electronic items like thins can only be diagnosed by opening them up and testing components. Do you know what a 'blown' or split capacitor looks like, or what a dry joint on a printed circuit board looks like and how to test? We they do and they also have as much as $10,000 of test equipment. There is no 'single reason' why this is happening to your unit, as it could be many things. It seems to have issues and because of that was discontinued. Harman say that if a factory reset doesn't cure it and it is out of warranty, the repair cost is the same as a new machine.

Try contacting their service center rep at (801)566-8800. They might send you a schematic for the pedal if you explain your situation. They do recommend using the original power supply PS0912 which should still be available. Hope this helps.

I am repairing a Digitech QM156 for a friend - someone has been stuffing with the trimpots - so it's way out of calibration. RV9 on the current sensor board, corrects the zero (most systems have this as an external control. However the volts range etc is way out of whack. Does anyone know what each pot is supposed to do?? Don't want to junk a perfectly good instrument. respond to [email protected]

to reset hold down both foot switches and power up ity worked for me.

Yes it is so is every other effect you will have to plug the reciever of your wireless mic system in to the vocalist and the out of the vocalist to your mixer or amp
