SOURCE: battery charger wont switch over to charge on a sonic scooter

The Sonic has an off board charger. IF the scooter is not charging, you may need to replace it. If you a technically inclined, you can measure the voltage out of the charger, it should be more than 28 V. You may need to contact Pride for more help.

Scooter wont go

It could be a battery connection, or maybe your key switch?
Or a connection problem between batteries and the motor controller
or the free wheel switch is on.

My victory 4 mobilty wont charge the green light is very faint/the charger was tested working.so why wont my scooter charge

make sure battery cables are secure at battery terminals and clean.how old are the batteries. If the batteries run down fast they are no good.a good way to test them is put scooter against some thing solid and go forward. If the battery indicator drops to o the batteries are no good.It takes about 10 hours to charge the batteries

Victory 4 pride mobilty scooter, the charger dont seem to charge up the batterys. is the charger faulty.

DID YOU HAVE THE MANUAL? YOU CAN FIND THE RIGHT WAY TO CHARGE IF IT DO NOT CHARGE AT ALL MAY BE BATTERY IS BAD OR IF IT DO NOT CHARGER NOTHING PROBABLY THE PROBLEM IS THE ADAPTER, TRY TEST IT USING VOLTMETER OR POWER TESTER.

Scooter won't move

Things to check: Drive/Free wheeling switch, brake release lever (this activates an internal micro-switch that enable power to the drive system, battery box connectors (condition of contacts - corroded, missing, loose. etc.); main control cable (corrosion. lose or missing pins, etc). If all these are OK, could be controller or drive control potentiometers (speed, forward, backward) on the handle-bar (tiller).
Good luck!

Scooter won't take a charge

scooter battries must be charged on a regular basis.or else the on board charger wont charge them .Try useing a trickle charger to bring them back to life. if you dont have access to one bring them to a local service station they should charge them for a small fee.

Problem with mobility scooter

Take the batteries down to a battery shop and have them load tested. Make absolutely sure they are DEEP CYCLE batteries. My 35a\h batteries put out 480 cranking amps. The battery shop can also test your charger. I have two chargers for my scooter the 4amp charger that came built into the chair, and a really nice three stage 5amp external charger. My scooters batteries have two 50amp quick disconnect connectors. I made up an external harness for the 5amp charger with the same connectors. I can now charge up my batteries out of the scooter. They say my built in charger is a 4amp charger, its slow in comparison to the 5amp charger. Batteries are expensive, regular chargers charge at one rate, full speed and can overcharge a battery. A three stage charger is by far way batter on your batteries. When you start to charge a depleted battery it put out full 5amps but as the battery nears being charged the charger backs off the amperage. When the battery is fully charged the charger goes into float mode and put out just enough amperage to maintain the charge. When i'm not using my scooter i keep the batteries connected to this charger. Deep cycle glass mat batteries don't stay charged very long when just sitting around. In about six months a dead battery will sulfate to the point where it will no longer take a charge. That happened to me once and cost me $200, never again will this happen to me. Battery shops are great places they have the instruments to tell you everything you need to know about the batteries. The batteries are the heart of your scooter unless you know there condition all kinds of strange things can happen. To make sure my batteries were good i have them checked against a known good set of batteries. BTW- Cranking amp is measured by putting a load on battery and increasing that load until the voltage falls off. At the point just before that voltage drop they measure the amperage output, that is you're cranking amps

HI Scooter is on charge full time and used daily after 30min i loose the first green light that is OK but if i dont use it for one or two days i loose the first green light only after 10min can you...

well it could be that you overcharged the batteries. You should not leave the scooter on the charger full time. you should charge the scooter nightly while you sleep unplug from the charger when you get up in the morning. the charger should not be on the scooter more than 12 hours per day and that rare. Whenever you have a red and green light on the charger the scooter is fully charged and can be unplugged. Always put it up fully charged and then charge after each use. Your batteries need to be replaced and charge the new ones before use then charge overnight each day that you use the scooter. If you don't use it for a few days you should still be fully charged than charge after use Hope this helps

My Dad just passed away and his Dr. K Phantom 3 wheel scooter won't run. When I plug the charger in, it says its fully charged. When I unplug it..it reads E..I want to donate this to a nursing home locally...

tar the batteries are probably too low to charge with the scooter charger and need to be replaced. With the charger plugged in it will indicate a full charge beacuse its reading the output of the charger but when you unplug it the batteries are too low to indicate any voltage. hope this helps you
