You will have to go to www.hp.com and let the website auto-detect your printer and install the drivers for you.

It may be that you just downloaed the priter side driver only, you need the all in one driver for it to use the scaner.

Try to connect the printer by using another USB Cable and in different port may the USB port in computer side or the usb cable is damaged that is why fail to send signal to your acer then try againt to install by using add hardware wizard
