We are using printronics P5010 Heavy duty line printer at our one site, before some days it's logic card firmware corrupted. we installed the logic card after installing the same firmware in printer. We installed the printer by using generic/text only printer driver for printing. Which is giving proper test page from windows. We are using SAP 6.0 and we are not able to take the proper format printout from SAP

there may be two problems in the logic card of the printer
1 .ONE OR MORE RESISTANCES R165 , R166 , R167 , R170 , R171 MAY BE DEFECTIVE..
2 . FIRMWARE MAY BE CORRUPTED , RELOAD IT.

Sounds like a logic board problem. You may have to change the logic board!

You are seeing the "Invalid Header" message on the LCD display on the T2250 because the pritner is in "boot" mode, which is the firmware download mode and is detecting data being recived is not a correct firmware file.
The most likely cause for this problem is the pritner has defaulted to 'Firmware Download Mode" due to a problem with either corruption to the firmware or damaged / faulty EEPROMS. When print jobs are sent to the pritner the pritner is expecting firmware and recognises the data it is reciving is not correct for a firmware file.

The solutions to this problem are;

1. Power the printer OFF, disconnect the printer from the computer system, and any external print server (eg JetDirect etc). Power the printer back on, if the error is resolved check the method of connecting the printer to the computer system to ensure there is no damage to cables etc.
   If the printer displays "BOOT" on the display this indicates the printer is in firmware download mode.
2. If the display reads BOOT first try reloading the firmware you may find details and firmware on the following web site,

3. If loading the firmware fails this indicates a logic board fault, the main logic board would need to be replaced to resolve the issue

I think the error you are getting is caused by corrupt firmware or damaged memory on the main board.
As a first step I would recommend reloading the firmware, this will rectify the problem if it is related to corrupt firmware.
You may need to change the logic board if the problem persist.

Connect your printer to your computer. power on your printer, then when the wizard appears direct it to the directory where the driver is located.
That is if you have the printer driver on the CD or in your hard disk. If you don't have the driver download it first on printronic web site support.

This can be done by sending an "escape sequence" to the printer. Basically you create a text file using Notepad and then print it. Of course the magic escape codes to do this are found in your P5010 Owners / Users Manual. I don't have a copy at hand. If yours has been misplaced, you're pretty much out of luck. As a long shot you can try the standard Epson codes for condensed print.

I can get the P5010 printing on your AS400... But, there are to many things to check without knowing a little more about your environment.

If you can't ping the PTX P5010 from the AS400 or a PC, then you have a printer configuration problem.
Take the printer offline and hit the Print Config button. and then the enter on OPs Panel. Then post top or first paragraph of the config. so I can look at...
