If you look closely at the board there should be labels printed. The power switch plug can plug in either direction, but the LED must be the correct direction for it to work. No damage can be done by plugging the LED in backwards.

T6410 EMACHINE TRYING TO CONNECT START BUTTON

The motherboard in your computer is an MSI MS-7145, which is also called RS480M. You can download a copy of the manual here. The front panel connections are on page 2-20.

Looking at the header JFP1, pins 1 through 9 (odd numbers) are the front row, pins 2 through 10 are the back. Pin 10 is the missing pin. The power switch connects to pins 6 and 8. The power LED connects to pins 2 and 4. The HDD LED connects to pins 1 and 3. The reset button, if used, connects to pins 5 and 7.

TRYING TO HOOK UP MU POWER BUTTON NEED TO KNOW

Hi there
The front panel connectors are mainly,
  • harddisk activity connector
  • power switch connector
  • reset switch connector
  • power LED connector
  • speakers connector
  • USB connector
Harddisk activity connector
This normally comes red in colour and is labeled as HDD-LED
Power switch connector
This comes green in colour and is labeled as POWER-SW
Reset switch connector
This usually comes grey in colour and is labeled as RST-SW
Power LED connector
This is usually green in colour and is labled as PWR-LED
Speakers connector
This speaker will give different beep sounds during boot to tell the user if there is any errors. It occupies 4 pins, however only 2 is important for the function. Be sure to connect the red coloured cable to the positive polarity and the black to the negative.

I have an 945gzt-m v 1.0 and dont know were the pwr sw wire goes

Yes.
First, let's orient the view of the motherboard, so we are both looking at it the same way.
The processor is at the top middle, and the Front panel header, is to the very bottom right hand corner.
Right next to the motherboard mounting hole.
The Front Panel header goes across the bottom edge of the motherboard, lengthwise.

Looking at the top row of pins on the Front Panel header, No.2 Pin is at the far left. Pins 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10, go across the top.

Looking at the bottom row, No. 1 Pin is at the far left. Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, go across the bottom.

The power switch wires go to Pins 6 and 8.
The HDD LED wires go to Pins 1 and 3.
The power LED wires go to Pins 2 and 4.

On the power switch wires, the Positive (+) wire goes to Pin 6. Just in case this wire is marked.
(Doesn't really matter which way it goes, because it's a switch!)

On the HDD LED wires, the Positive (+) wires goes to Pin 1.

On the power LED wires, the Positive (+) wire goes to Pin 6.

Emachines t3830 I need the schematic for MB I umployed the wire for the push bottom without looking at the way they were plug. Now I do not know the correct aligning of the push bottom wires.

If you look at the motherboard there is usually a diagram labeled "FRONT PANEL HDR" that will tell you which pins are for: HDD LED, PWR LED, RESET, PWR ON. etc.
The chart / diagram may be a few inches away from front panel header.
the following example is from my emachine T2893 that I had opened because it won't power up.

the motherboard at the header connector labels pin #2 and with that you can figure out the other
pin numbers

example of diagram on motherboard (Confirm the pin numbers on your motherboard)

J9G1 PINS
| HD LED | 1 - 3 |
| PWR LED | 2 - 4 |
| RESET | 5 - 7 |

| PWR ON | 6 - 8 |

Hope this helps you figure which pins to hook you switch up to.

Emachines t2865 power led diagram

The header connections that you are looking for are on the edge of the motherboard near the battery. Look for a group of gold contacts sticking straight up at you. The silkscreen tells you which header are for what light or switch. You will see one that says "PWR LED". Another says "PWR SW" Another says "HDD LED". They are printed very small. You will see others in that vicinity that say "SAST1" and "SPKR". Ignore them.Look along the edge where the battery is mounted some are located around the nearby corner but still along the edge. All should be on the edge nearst the front of your machine. Others may be along the edge facing the bottom of your machine.
