After the initial wash, and final spin my Kenmore 3.2 cu.ft. Super Capacity Washer "thumps" as if it were out of balance until the drum stops rotating, although the load and washer are perfectly balanced. Other than that the machine works great. Please HELP.

Hi. I have a Kenmore Super Capacity 3.5 front loading washing machine and for some reason the door won't open. I recently unstacked the set to work on the house so without the weight of the dryer it seemed to shake more than before. It sounds like your tub bearing is bad or going bad. It could be the adjustment on your spin cycle. Does your unit allow you to adjust this. Also are you overloading. Can you send me the brand and model of your unit and I help you more. JimmyC
You need to replace the drive block and basket drive. You can download a tutorial to get you started at www.shop.washermd.com. The gearcase replacement tutorial will put you in the right direction. Dave
took the plate of just under the door removed 2 screws then took the black rubber boot that hooks up to the pump and cleaned out the **** that was stuck in there, pluged washer back in after a little crunhin noise everything was back to normal
If your washer is the one you have chosen a Whirlpool built kenmore unit than your washer doesnt have any bearing that fail, It could be the spin tube mounting block becoming stripped ( most common) or a clutch or brakes not releasing issue (not likely). Also make sure the machine is agitating it may just be filling with water and draining and making motor noises. In this case the motor coupling has broken. both the block and coupling are inexpensive parts and easy to install.
