Microphone I have a compaq 6720 which had a problem hours after purchase. I have done a clean install of vista home, and downloaded all necessary drivers. Everything works fine but the microphone. It says it is working perfectly, but no one can hear me on calls . Any ideas please ? Had to choose the wrong product, because mine isn't in your list

You can download the device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the Windowsdrivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download thedrivers: -

Open this link (click here), click on the Operating System type installed on it. Click on the "Download" button, install it and run the program. The wizard will automatically help you update and install the necessary drivers for the system. Note: This to be done using the compaq presario c700 where you want to install the driver.

If you are trying to install the driver for the Broadcom ethernet NIC that was pre-installed (NOT an ethernet card that you purchased and installed yourself), there is a softpack (updated driver installation) download available from HP/Compaq. It will install the driver automatically for you, just download it from the link below and run the ".exe" file.

there is a chance that your onboard audio was made after xp days, and there has never been an xp driver released, but you'd figgure the audio output would be disabled as well. You may want to purchase a usb audio device which has a microphone input, musical instrument stores usually carry a wide selection of usb audio input devices, if you cannot find a suitable device at a retail electronics store.
