Hi erichhafivx,i am happy to help you

Follow this steps

1. hold RESUME then press & hold POWER
2. release RESUME, then press it twice, the light should go amber then green again.
3. you're now in service mode (you can release POWER now)

I think waste tank reset is 4 presses of the RESUME button. To confirm, press POWER once.

5100 is a carriage error, check the timing strip for contamination(plastic strip about 1/4" in width) The unit is not homing, check for obstructions.

Good Luck

My printer is canon IP 1900 Series. my canon problem is error messege display ''the following ink may run out.balck.. the function for detecting the remaining ink level will be disabled since the ink level...

It would appear that the black ink cartridge is either out of ink or running out soon.Change the cartridge. If your need to print now and don't have a new cartridge try this open the unit pull out the black cartridge shake it and the reinstall it you may get a little more out of it.If this is a new printer the cartridges install are always limited in use,so you'll buy more.If you must print know try changing your font color to dark blue avoiding black.Good luck.

How can i solve the problem error 5001 of ip 1800 canon

5001 is not an error code but 5100 says that there is a paper scrap blocking the carriage, or grease on the encoder strip. The plastic strip behind the carriage assembly that runs all the way across the printer. Try first to clean the strip with a damp Q-tip just damp with water.
