It is best advised you take it back to the company or store from where you purchased it before the warranty runs out providing you haven't tampered with the laptop

Go to the HP website (customer care) and enter your product number and serial number. They will process your warranty, send you an empty box with shipping label to ship the laptop back to the factory.

My compaq presario x-1000 hard drive light and dvd rom light flashes. Won't boot up.

Try disconnecting the harddrive from the case and then place it back in. if that doesn't help you may have a faulty drive, hows warranty? Compaq / HP would fix it for you free if you still have warranty.

let me know.

Thanks,

MY PROBLEM OF MY LAPTOP CAN'T PROCEED TO START UP WINDOWS, AND GIVE A MESSAGE THAT NO HARD DRIVE FOUND. SO THAT'S WHY I CONSULT YOU IF YOU CAN GIVE A SOLUTION TO FIX OR REPAIR REGARDING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.

No hard drive found message means that your hard drive, which you may know as the C: Drive, is bad and needs replacing. If it is under warranty, call the manufacturer, if not a local computer company/tech can fix it.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response.

Thanks, Joe

Hi!My laptop (HP G7000)can not boot, currently when I diagnose the hard disk using "BIOS Hard Disk Self Long test" I get this message"Failed - replace Hard Disk 1 (warranty ID - error code 10008". What...

Your hard disk has indeed failed, this is not an indication of a spyware problem. Your best bet, if the laptop is under warranty, is to contact HP for a replacement hard drive.

If, however, your are out of warranty or would prefer to do it yourself, it appears your laptop has a 2.5" SATA hard drive. You don't need a huge one, your failed hard drive was probably between 80-160GB. Do not get a hard drive with a PATA/IDE interface, or a 3.5" hard drive, as these will neither work nor fit in your computer.

There are several screws on the bottom of your laptop. You will not likely need to remove the entire laptop case, and many times the bottom of the laptop is labeled with icons or a description of the component beneath the panel in question. When you replace the hard drive, pay attention to the orientation of the old hard drive, as well as where any different size screws were placed.

Finally, you will need to restore your computer with a set of disks. As you will be replacing your hard drive, any restore partition that was previously on your computer will have been lost.

Please let me know if you have any other questions related to this issue. Thanks!

Hard Disk Failure #1-03 Repair? This code shows up after a hard disk self test.

If the notebook is under warranty IMMEADIATELY contact HP. Get a free hard drive from them.
If not then unfortunately you need to buy a new hard drive.
Note: Buy a HP Hard drive because other third party hard drive may not work.

NEED HELP...HP G70-467CL NOTEBOOK PC BLUE SCREEN COMES UP AND STATES THAT WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DMG.

if this is an ongoing problem with the blue screen then the hard drive is surely lost there is a very slim chance of getting anything of the hard drive you can try to if you believe you can put my suggestion is to just replace the hard drive and if under warranty go to www.hp.com/support and see what is need to have the hard drive replaced if not under warranty then finding a replacement will depend on brand and size if you would like too up the size or just keep the same size. Replacing it shouldn't be a problem the only thing that is technical is the re installation of the operating system and drivers of the laptop

My lap top is 7months old the disk drives stopped working.

Logon to HP site, got suport and Drivers, check the support raio button. On the right pane of that page you will see Warranty Informationat click on it.

Enter the product Number of your Laptop and the serial Number and click on the Warranty Lookup. From the result of the warranty lookup if the pc is still under warranty, send it to HP service center for warranty repair, otherwise you can buy care pack to enxtend your warranty and get the laptop fixed by Hp qualified personnel.

Alternatively, get a qualified service personnel to replace the faulty drive for you.

Laptop fails to start up

Sounds like your hard drive has gone bad. Can be easily replaced with another 2.5" laptop hard drive but all your stuff is lost I'm afraid. Get it fixed under warranty if you still have time.

Hp pavilion ze4930us notebook pc is dead

Hi danielb59,

Let do troubleshooting together.

First) if possible, connect a external monitor to your laptop. If you get a picture on the external monitor, then this means your pc is ok but the monitor screen on the laptop has gone bad.

Second) if the monitor screen on the laptop has gone bad, most likely the inverter component on the screen went bad (inverter provide back light). The inverter is replaceable but I do not know what they run. If your laptop is still under warranty, then please allow the manufacturer to fix it.

Those are your choices. Hopefully it helps and good luck.
