with the cord from your monitor yo ucan plug it into any new flat screen now. if you want sound tho you will have to get the small 1/8 in patch cord. just unhook it from the old monitir and plug it in to the new tv. if the cord does not come off the back of the monitor you wil have to find one at some second hand store

The DLL's are on the install media. You can Google each DLL, but sometimes that is risky as they may be infected. You can usually copy the correct version from a second computer. This process can take a long time depending on how many you are missing.

When first powering on this laptop, you should push the button on the left side where the CD/DVD drive is located. You should also push F10 to stop it from loading an OS and it will enter into bios where the CD tray can be opened.

If you aren't very familiar with computer components you are going to want to try to find a friend to assist you or a very well laid out tutorial online. There could be a number of reasons why you are experiencing problems and I don't have the details listed here to try to figure out what they might be. Assuming your hard drive is not the issue why your computer has stopped working, you can take apart the laptop and retrieve the hard drive with all your files on it intact. My guess would be something else happened, likely a software bug that is preventing your operating system from starting correctly. The computer might be a simple fix if you have someone take a look at it. If you just want the photos and don't care about the computer, either find a tutorial or a friend to assist. Use a screw driver to start taking apart the computer and extract the hard drive. You will then need either another part (or friend who has one), sata cable and molex adapter to power the drive. The simplest way to explain it is, take the laptop apart and get your drive. Then using the necessary parts, plug it into a different computer and you can recover your photos just fine.

There is a tiny hole on the draw in which to insert a paperclip to manually eject the draw.

If you are getting garbage on the screen before windows tries to load the laptop probably has a bad motherboard.

It's possibly only the video output is going bad on it, try hooking it to an external monitor and see if you get the same weird stuff on that screen.

Is it a new ISP? Have you verified the signal, contacted the ISP? What is the Make and model of device? Wired or Wireless? When you say it's not working, I assume you mean it's not connecting? With a Ethernet Cable? Wirelessly? Have you done the setup of the device? Is it secured? Have you verified the cables, reseated? I don't know your exact CPU specs but I've taken a single core Intel M processor 2.0 GHZ from a Dell 800 laptop and put it into my wife's X1000 and have had no problems running XP SP3. My own x1000 computer reports Intel Pentium M 1600MHZ as CPU type.

I fix these laptops as a side business and sell refurbished ones on ebay...I've seen the problem you describe but I'd need to know more about how fast they are blinking, etc. When all the lights flash about 2-3 times per second, I've found it to be a motherboard issue normally caused by a faulty power jack. That can be fixed but it means disassembling the complete laptop down to the motherboard and either re-soldering or replacing the jack. If you have access to a charged battery, disconnect the AC adapter and try to get it to boot cleanly from the battery. This will tell you if the problem is at the jack or someplace else. Post your results and we'll go from here.

There is one screw on the bottom that must be removed to take the DVD combo drive out. When I remove the DVD combo drive, I like to remove the Hard Drive first so that I can push on the back of the drive with a small screw driver through the hard drive bay and not pull on the face plate. You can also open the drive first before turning it off or use that small hole on the front of the faceplate to open it when turned off...then you can pull on the side rails of the drive to get it to come out.

This sounds like the infamous video card has overheated problem. The only real fix is to repair/replace the video card and that means taking the laptop down to the motherboard in the base. Keep track of where all those different length screws go or you'll blow holes in the top of the laptop when you put it back together. This has been answered before but just under the wireless symbol on the front, there is a small switch that turns the wireless card on and off. A LED will turn blue when its on.

The power button on these laptops is easily depressed underneath the power button strip especially when the switch becomes dirty, the screen doesn't light up, and the user gets frustrated. When I find a depressed button, I take the keyboard off by removing the 2 13mm screws with the keyboard emblem from the bottom and moving the 4 tiny plates between the esc-F1, F4-F5, F8-F9, & F12-delete keys. The power strip is then removed by gently prying up near the CPU and pulling it up and toward the front of the laptop. You can then either repair or replace the button or strip. I small drop of contact cleaner down into the switch will help it function reliably. Even a small drop of rubbing alcohol will sometimes work but contact cleaner is the best.

yes sounds like the board has gone out on you.

You will have to watch ebay for a board. I just searched and nothing except batterys and keyboards are available.

Identifying the back from left to right: Ventilation slots, External VGA Port, S-Video Port, USB Port, USB Port, RJ-45 Network Jack, RJ-11 Telephone Jack, Parallel Printer Port, USB Port and 1394 (a.k.a. "Firewire") Port.

You can connect a VGA monitor to the VGA port (blue colored jack) very easily. Any analog VGA monitor should readily connect to it. Additionally, the x1000 can output its display to TV or other monitor that accepts "S-Video" signals. An "S-Video" cable will be needed to connect between the "S-Video" jacks on the notebook (next to the VGA Port) and one on the TV. It is important to note that not all TVs support both or either "S-Video" or VGA inputs. When ever the there is a choice of using S-Video or VGA on a TV or monitor, the VGA will provide the best looking picture, and should be used.
