If you do open it, you can get those little screwdrivers at most hardware stores, buy the bits, or the whole thing, sears has them too. No. T5 through T10 are the smallest, the T5 is about 1/16 of an inch. Or smaller. Take out the screws, twist off the tip and then open the whole thing up, If you get it back together and it is spinning the wrong way, flip the motor over. You got it in backwards, or mark it before you take it out. Hope this helps.

Is there a special tool to open the Dremel can't seem to find the right Allen wrench

Is the 'screw' more of a star shaped hole? I think Dremel use a TORX head screw. It is possibly a T15 size. The website below is for a plug in Dremel to change a bearing assembly but removing the cover on a cordless model is basically the same as this. Read the whole description BEFORE you start to make sure you don't damage anything by accident.

Replace 2007 Oddysey tailgate light assembly

To Replace a Tailgate: Tools needed for the replacement:- Star shaped sockets- Flathead Screwdriver- Long Nose Pliers- Shop Light- Dremel w/ disc cutter for plastics, Remove the 2 outer long star shaped screws: Close Tailgate and pull down and out the handle bezel. The bezel itself its being held by 2 plastic anchors. To remove the handle from the tailgate we need to open it. Pull the linkage from both sides inward and the tailgate should open. Remove the 3 large star shaped screws-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My 395 series dremel will not turn on. I looked at the brushes and they are fine.

Something similiar with a belt sander on / off switch that had dirt inbetween the contacts in the switch. After cleaning the switch contacts it worked.

How to open case: Seagate ST3160203U2RK External Hard Drive ??

This is one of the mean tricks that the industry uses to discourage people from opening things and then totally ruining them.

What about getting yourself a 5-star-shaped screwdriver? Ask your hardware store guy.

Too expensive? Well - I have a lot of different simple slotted screwdrivers. Normally I find one that fits into 2 corners of these "miracle screws". If you don't have fitting one use a cheap one that is slightly too large to fit and grind it down just to size.

The same trick works with the other kind of "discouragement screws" that have ALMOST a normal slot --- but there's an elevation in the middle of it. A slot screwdriver with a ground-in **** in the middle (Dremel tools work fine) does the trick.

I cant loosen the head on the dremel 300. When I push the button and try to remove the head all I can hear is some clicking and it just wont let go the attachment

Another suggestion: you could put a point on that rod with a grinder or a file, or a dremel, and it's good as new.

Could I get a "problem solved" / "fixya" rating on this -- there are icons at the bottom of this posting I believe.

thanks...

Yamaha V Star 650 Custom 2007 - Battery Post Bolts - What the?

That 4 point star you refer to is a large phillips head srewdriver slot w/ hexhead so when you can't get a socket or open end wrench on it you use a srewdriver...even a flatblade screwdriver that fits into 2 points of the 4 will remove them.....Good luck to you friend....Tim
