There used to be music when we placed a line on hold but now there is nothing but a loud static...sounds like you're in a steel mill or machine shop. How do I add a musical selection or message to our hold feature?

There should be a radio or a music on hold player in the telephone closet nearby the telephone system. It might need to be tuned in or restarted (if its a music on hold player).

Milling machine problems and solutions

I'm going to assume you mean metal, since on wood it is called routing.

The number one problem would be insecurely fixed work pieces. Work out which way the cutting force goes, and try to have that directed to a solid part of the setup, not to a moving jaw or clamp.

Make sure your cutter is sharp. Blunt cutters generate enormous forces which can become dangerous. I have seen cutters shatter in this situation.

Know your cutter type and what it is capable of. Some types cannot do a heavy feed rate. Know your material and what it requires. Stainless steel for instance is treacherous because it hardens in the cut.

Use some kind of cutting fluid even if it makes a mess. Milling is a process which needs it, and you will get a better finish.

Never never put your fingers near the rotating cutter. I saw an apprentice mill his forefinger off once. He was feeling the surface finish behind the cutter.

How do I clean my burr mill (Models BMX3, BMX4, BMX5 and BMX6)?

Clean your burr mill before using it for the first time. Then, to ensure optimal mill function and durability, clean it regularly following these simple steps.
  1. Always unplug your burr mill after use and before cleaning.
  2. Open the hopper lid. Empty any whole beans from the hopper. Remove the top burr mill by rotating it clockwise. For better results hold the grind setting button while rotating the burr mill clockwise. This will allow you to clean the grinding wheel and the grinding compartment.
  3. Clean the interior recesses with a soft brush. Note: Never use water or liquid for cleaning the lower grinding section of this appliance. BRUSH NOT INCLUDED.
  4. Wipe the whole bean hopper, its lid and the mill exterior with a damp cloth.
  5. The ground coffee chamber and lid can be washed in mild detergent and water. They both are top rack dishwasher safe. Do not immerse the mill or the whole bean hopper in water or any other liquid or place in dishwasher. Use only non-abrasive cleaners to remove stains.
  6. After completely drying the whole bean hopper and top burr mill, replace the burr mill in position by aligning snaps with receptacle and rotating counterclockwise to lock it in position. For better results, hold the grind setting button while rotating the burr mill counterclockwise. Once the burr mill is in position, pull gently to check it is properly locked in position. If the burr mill comes out, repeat this step again.
  7. Replace the ground coffee chamber and lid, making sure both snap securely into place.
  8. Fill the hopper with whole beans.

I had major static sounds from my yamaha stagepas 500. I plugged in an acoustic guitar into the mixer while running a keyboard and 2 vocal mics. I started getting crackling sounds. I changed the patch...

Chances are there is nothing wrong with the mixer. IF you accidentally turned on Phantom power, that would cause the problem. Phantom is ONLY used with condenser mics and a few DI boxes. Turning it on can create noise unless balanced lines are used everywhere.

On more than one occasion my x2442usb, makes a loud static like sound coming from no apparent individual channel but its just there. is this a flaw in the mixer should i send it back?

First, make sure ALL interconnected equipment is POWERED from the same receptacle.

Second, if the sound is routed through your computer via USB, make sure ALL background programs like wireless internet connection, anti-virus, anti-spyware, popup blockers are DISABLED.

These system hogging programs can interrupt the flow of the sound data causing static like noise.

Also use balanced lines for ALL audio interconnects... eithe XLR or TRS cables.

Ge fourline telephone 29488GE2-A There are annoying loud beeps on other lines when one line is on hold. How do I get rid of it? You cannot talk on the lines until someone picks up the call that is placed...

The phone generates a low beep tone about once every 10 seconds for the person on hold. This lets them know that they were not hung up on but at the same time it is not needed if you have music like a typical office puts on the holding lines. I talked with the manufacturer and they told me that this feature can not be disabled through programming. There is however a on-hold aftermarket adapter that can be placed in front of the music system that will eliminate the tone (Invotel AudioImage SX4400EZ). The cost we paid for this device was about $200 which has a audio input and in/out plugs for all 4 lines. This aftermarket system is designed to replace the beeps with music you provide through the audio input.

Sreeching loud sound

How does it sound using external speakers? What is your signal source...broadcast, cable, satellite? Is the static continuous or does it fade in and out with voices (lips moving) and / or sound effects / music?

GE Dect 6.0 Cordless - Loud Static

question is are you running a pc and router/ modem on the same land line
if so you will need the line filters to the phone base
the computer data is transferred by the same land line and there is every possibility that the different frequencies is what is causing the static
reference from a uniden trouble shooter ( will be common as the phones use the same medium)
lots of noise or static on the line === possible solutions --check for interference from appliances ( microwave , tv etc ) or wireless devices ( baby monitors wifi equipment etc)
move the handset base away from the source
if you have any device that uses the phone line , add a DSL or telephone line filter to the system

it is possible from the times you state that the interference could be coming form a neighbour or further down the line so the filter may be the option
available from phone shops or places like JAYCAR
