Leaking shower/tub faucet, looking for replacement cartridge. cartridge is stamped "MOEN with #96909. Tub faucet has pull up knob to divert water to the shower, valve is single handle. I replace it with a "Moen Posi temp cartridge" it corrected the leaking faucet but it would not allow the water to be diverted to the shower head. What cartridge is the correct replacement?

I installed a Moen L2353E tub/shower faucet and water won't come out of shower head

Couple of ideas: If you don't get water at all first check to see if the shut-off valves are open. If so, close them and remove and clean the cartridge. If water comes from the spout and not the shower head, make sure the diverter (the handle on the tub spout) moves up when you pull it. If that works, remove and clean the shower head since there might be debris blocking the water flow. Without
more info this is my best guess.

We have installed a moen 82490 one handle tub & shower unit. When we turn on the water you could shower and bath at the same time. If you pull the plug for just a shower the water to the spout stops...

If you pull the silver knob on the tub spout up, the diverter located located inside will redirect water up to the shower head and when lowered it will return the water to the tub spout. It sounds as thought the diverter is not working properly. Hope this helps..

I bought a tub/shower valve system from lowes. When I turn on the faucet for the tub, the water comes out the tub faucet and the shower head at the same time. Is this a defective valve? Everything seems...

it sounds like the tub filler itself. When you pull the knob up it's supposed to divert the water to the shower, if it's coming out both, I'd look at that piece, inexpensive and easy to replace

sounds like the diverter inside the valve body is cloged with debris.

only wat to remedy this is to remove the valve and clean out the diverter, or just replace the valve.

& Replacement Cartridge : tub faucet leaks when shower is on...

Sounds like a bad diverter. Depending on what faucet you have some are on the tub spout and some are built on the valve. Both types can be repaired or replaced. I hope this helps.

Water sprays out the diverter

Remove hot/cold button in handle, remove screw/pull off handle. Remove the two screws in the wall plate/remove plate. Use a wrench to remove the diverter assembly. Get new diverter assy and reinstall eveything. You don't need to turn off the water.

Moen shower/tub faucet

hi... yes that's a very common issue with moen "cartridges" -- it's very simple to fix..... grasp the handle and give it a gentle tug upwards when the water is on... if it retracts again, pull the handle out again and tug again but this time a bit harder. Not sure what causes this on new cartridges but it will fix your issue.

Leaky Faucet

You likely need to replace the Moen cartridge. There are clear instructions on how to proceed that come with the new cartridge.
