Hi Morna- If you want to change the font on your AOL e-mail, look under the subject line. To the right of the font name is the font size use the arrow tab to the right of the number to choose your font size. If this solves your problem PLEASE rate this as fixed. If you need more help just add a comment and I'll be happy to assist you further.
( you listed this as changing AOL font size, but said Dell Desktop in your post. If the info I gave you is not what you wanted just let me know. Thanks )
Jeff
If you want make any changes permanent for your email heres how to do it:
1) On your top tool bar click on Safety
2) click on Settings
3) Under F- click on Fonts and Text
4) There you can choose a font style, size, color, bold or regular, italicized, etc. It will show you a sample of what you have chosen. Once you have it the way you want just hit the save button. Now all your emails will have that same look. Hope this helps.
Hi Morna - just wondering if you had a problem or this wasn't what you needed. I thought I explained fairly well in full detail the answer to your question. Just wondering why you only gave a helpful rating instead of a fix ya? Thanks.
Hi Jeffrey, Thanks, that was wonderful. I was looking all over the place., Donna
It is not working...I know I am computer illiterate on some things but this one shoudn't be one of them...I see the font and it tells you the type of font but not the size...this has happened to me a couple times and it drives me crazy because there is not way that I change it purposely so I must be hitting something not realizing it.

ALL of the previous SETTINGS options are available here:
I got the link from an AOL Tech
aol://4344:9000.Indexs.36057651.782693350/
I think the problem here is that the font canNOT be changed if you are using free AOL email. That is to say, if you are not logged into the AOL program itself, not just getting to your email via www.aol.com, then the settings don't give an option to change the font.
If this is incorrect, I'll be delighted to hear that fact and have someone tell me how to change it permanently. So it seems that with free email accounts, you get what you pay for -- email but with many limitations that aren't in place when you actually pay for a service.
Lolaisbk (solution #5) is right on the money!!!
Copy and paste her answer (below) to your browser; open the page. This brings up the old "Settings"page. Click (under F) on Font & Text; change font/size as you would in an email, then click Save. This DOES change your emailing font permanently...in AOL 9.5 anyway.

Thanks sooooo much Lolaisbk!
On AOL's Home page under "My Stuff" Click on the "Mail" icon. Over to the right down a little ways from the top you'll see "Themes| Settings| Help." Click on "Settings." This will open a new page. Over to the far left under "General" click on "Compose." Make any changes you want on this page. When your done click "Save" at the bottom. I hope this is the soultion your looking for. Bocephus
Regarding questions on how to change a font on incoming AOL emails, click "basic version" at the bottom of your aol email screen. this will change it to the old version. then at the tool bar, you can hit View/text size and make it bigger. It looks ancient, but it does the trick if you need bigger text.
Please how to change or fix my fonts
Right click in desktop. Write down current resolution setting so you can reset if necessary. Click on Screen Resolution. Click on resolution drop down. Drag pointer down to 1360 x 768. Save and reboot. If not satisfactory try other settings.
I went to my tool bar and went to view and zoomed in, everything i viewed on aol was larger as i flipped around in the mail, the other tabs had open remained normal.
i am not paying for aol, using aol on the web but ill be dammed if i keep them if this is the way they bulldoze you for getting for mail on the web.
theyre still making money per click on their ads that are force fed you when you are on every freaking screen! the greed in some people is getting out of hand these days!!!
After using the original colours in my epson, the machine will not accept non epson cartidges. why
AOL Mail is an email service provided to the customers of American Online as well as Web users.
When you print an email using AOL Mail software, you may notice that the font size either appears too small or too large.
AOL Mail gives you the flexibility to adjust the font size and thus, the size of the print.
Note that these instructions apply to AOL 9.0 or higher.
If you have an old edition, follow instructions from the link specified under Resources.
Launch your AOL Mail software from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.
Log in using your AOL screen name and password.
Click "Settings" on the top bar.
Click "Font and Text."
Click the font type drop-down menu to choose either a larger or smaller font type than the current one.
Click the font size drop-down menu to choose either a larger or smaller font size based on your preference.
Click "Save."
Hope this helps

I understand how to change the font in one email in AOL. How do I change the default setting, so that EVERY email I compose has the same font setting? (We old folks need a larger default font size -- you can just be proud of us for trying to learn to use a computer!)
Thanks.
Using Vista with all updates incoming AOL 9 mail shows all text as 6pt. Unreadable. All solutions I read and tried effect outgoing mail only.
The new aol desktop doesn't seem to have that function and is there anywhere to ask the question? Â No. Â That's why aol sucks.com
On AOL I want to change the font style, size and boldness. However, my AOL 9.0 Security Edition SE doesn't seem to have a place to do that as did earlier AOL Editions.
where is the font size on all aol e-mails that I can change so that when composing an e-mail I don't have to keep changing font size on each line?
how to change the font size on all incoming aol emails
I've encountered the same problem as Morna. I can adjust the emails I'm sending; however incoming emails are so small I can barely read them. So far, I haven't found a solution, so if someone out there knows how to make this happen, please send the fix our way
I have the same problem and certainly would appreciate a solution

I CANT READ THE FONTS. THEY ARE WAY TOO SMALL. I DONT KNOW HOW THEY CHANGED BUT I WANT THEM BACK TO NORMAL 12 OR 14. CAN ANYONE HELP ME?
For some reason I now only have 3 fonts on my computer. That leaves me with my toolbar, and my typing looking like x * and a few other symbols I can't describe. Does anyone know how or where I can go to downloan my old font so I can stop looking at chinese symbols (that's what it looks like) other than doing a restore, which I've already tried?
Thanks,
I know I can change my font in each individual e-mail, but when I make a new paragraph it goes back to the old font setting.
I HAVE VISTA. I WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE MY FONT SIZE TOA BIGGER FONT SIZE

I downloaded 9.1 and then deleted it and it is still way too small. I am not using free aol and I have vista....please help I am going blind
when I go into settings it does not give me the option of mail font settings. The only way I can do it is with each individual mail writting. Please tell me what to do.... it appears the format has changed
This is a lot of talk with no results . Like the guy said Free AOL does not come with a very helpful answers to your problems... maybe just get rid of it . Learn to use another e mail . My peeve is the print out of an email is tiny and no amount of changing things fixes the problem. I have no idea what it looks like when I send out an email. I have no time for this bull..
DPI adjustment
Default is Arial 10 point.
Too small!
I don't use application but go through web.
Any way to change font?
Haven't seen solution yet.

Can't change font for composing emails, that will stay changed. I have to adjust size for every email. I pay for my service and used to be able to change the font for all future emails. This is very annoying. Can anyone help?
Can't find where to adjust the font size in my email. I used to have it adjusted in another laptop running XP but it crashed. Now on this new one running Vista, I cannot seem to figure out where to go to change the size. Even the AOL searches are proving useless up till now. It is irritating.
The font size on my incoming email is way too small. How do I adjust it on AOL?
my font size is 10. I want 14 using XP & 9.5 aol
I do not see a toolbar or anything in settings that will allow me change(increase) future outgoing text size in my email. I have the free version of AOL and I think this is why. Am I missing something?
AOL incoming email too small to read. How do I increase the size of incoming emails?
