If the auto adjust keeps appearing on the screen, Then what you got is the board where the putting is pushing down on is defective, Now you might have to find a old monitor people are selling on ebay for parts and extract the board, Now how much will this cost, Well this depends on you, the part.

If the part is ready available and you can put it in i would price it around $25 bucks, if you cannot put it in then that ups the price you might just as well as buy a new monitor.

Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/edwy_1a56970cf1ea4620

possible problem with the cooling fan relay. If the relay shorts internally, it may cause power to be permanently switched on, which will cause the fans to run at all times.

I have the 51" Sony KP-51WS510. I have thin red lines going accross it. I read that there were six adj nobs behind the speaker panels and that if adjusted right, it may solve the problem. Well i adjusted...

If lowering the red screen control does not solve the problem----the red picture tube is the problem--they are only available for this model on a rebuild basis--tube has to be removed and shipped out for rebuild---the last one I did was in a shop I worked for and the set was under extended warranty--cost just for the tube was near 300 not counting labor.

If you do not have an extended warranty this set probably will not be worth repairing for this. There is also something else to consider--all three tubes in this set are prone to this kind of trouble.

I replaced dozens of them when the sets were fairly new and still under warranty.

I am sorry the instructions for trying to adjust did not give you a permanent fix but based on what you have said--this set is not going to be fixed for a reasonable cost.

If the instructions (which I think were mine) helped you at all rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Rear view projection t.v

Hello riff5000719,

The problem with your TV might be the convergence correction amplifier modules (2 STK392-110). These modules often malfunction and produce the symptoms you are describing. The cost of the parts is about from $12.00 - $32.00 depending where you buy the parts from. The major cost will be the labor, and if needed the cost of installing the biasing circuitry that the modules use. This usually costs around $200.00 - $400.00 depending on the shop.

Getting rid of it might not be warranted if you can spend the 200-400 to get it repaired.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Is it worth keeping???

I would suggest calling a repair shop explaining in detail what your problem with the set is and see if they can give you an accurate estimate on what the cost would be to repair your set.
