One of my glass top plates doesn't work, it goes red and then turns off. How can I fix it?

I have no idea what you're talking about. Glass top plates? In a microwave oven? All I know is the glass turntable tray. And if it's not turning around, you either have that feature turned off (a dedicated button on the control panel), or else the turntable motor is bad.

Turn table in microwave wont turn

Repairs are expensive. New microwaves are cheap. But you don't have to spend a dime on either. If your microwave turntable stopped spinning, here's an easy way to try and fix it. And all you need is some warm, soapy water and your own two hands. You don't have to be an appliance expert to troubleshoot a seemingly broken microwave turntable. You might find that all your little Zappy needs is a checkup and a good, thorough cleaning. If you follow these steps and find that your microwave still isn't turning, it probably means the motor has spun it's last spin. Then it's time to retire old Zappy. Unplug the microwave. Safety first, kids. Remove the glass tray and the circular turntable guide. Wash them both in warm, soapy water to get rid of anything stuck. Pay special attention to the rollers on your turntable guide, making sure they're able to spin freely. Clean the internal cavity. Make sure to check your microwave's center cavity to make sure it's free of movement-hindering (and gross) leftover food. Check that the drive bushing is working. Make sure that the drive bushing, the plastic mechanism in the bottom of the microwave's interior that the glass tray turns on, isn't worn out or split in two. If it is, you'll need to have it replaced. Put it back together. Put the turntable guide back into the circular groove. Place the glass tray turntable over the turntable guide and onto the drive bushing. Adjust until the drive bushing should fits perfectly into the grooves of the glass tray. Test it out. Zap a mug of water for a short bit to see if you fixed the problem. Do not run the microwave without anything in it.

The glass tray no longer turns.

The turntable motor that turns the glass tray has become defective, the only way to fix this, is the motor must be replaced.

Turntable wheel under glass tray broken

If the microwave comes with a roller ring to rotate the glass turntable then I would recommend that it needs to be used when the microwave is operating, as the turntable rotates the food so it can be heated evenly.

I would recommend checking with your local Panasonic repairer he may have access to a new roller or even a second hand one to tide you over.

Rotating ring/ Glide tray comes off the track -Elite Model 80803

Take your round glass tray and plastic three wheeled hoop to a local Sears store, open up the microwaves on display, find the one that is still using something similar, deftly trade out yours for theirs. The new wheeled plastic hoop wheels are slightly bigger and the glass tray raised guides are a bit longer, since the switch no problems like I had. Don't get caught. They do not have those parts for sale at the local Sears store.

Turnaround glass tray problem

Sometimes they get heated up and bend up in the middle so they don't make good contact with the coupler. The way I fix this is to heat the support over a stove flame, then place a heavy weight on it so it holds the legs up in place a bit until it cools. Here it is step by step: 1. Apply heat at points where each legs meet the hub (stove flame) 2. Place end of each leg on an object so that the bottom of the hub is held up about 1/8" off the work surface. 3. Place heavy object on hub so the bottom touches the work surface. 4. Let it cool. 5. Test it. 6. If it still does not work, increase the height of objects in step two.
