My taps are new. When the handle is turned full hot , the water is only tepid. I think the anti scald feature is letting too much cold water pass. Please advise

There is a splined adjustment just under the handle of the 3175.

you need to remove the handle, usually held on with an allen screw
once you remove the handle, there will be a black "stop" held on with a screw, remove that, but remember its position.

once that is off you can adjust the temperature. there will be 2 white pieces, one has splines, you can move this counter clockwise one or two notches at a time untill you reach your desired termp.
be careful not to go too much, even though these are an anti scald valve, you are letting more hot water through it.

Moen water flow restricted and only warm

Not sure about your particular valve, but most newer shower valves have an anti-scald limiter that stops the handle from turning too far to the hot water side. Check for a ring or a pin under the handle that can be set in different positions. It will need to be moved clockwise to allow the handle to rotate farther to hot.

Hope that helps. If you have trouble finding it, try looking up a diagram for the valve model.

If some taps have really hot and others luke warm, then you might have defective mixing valve, check valve, or crossover on single handled faucet.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Crossover.html

Crossover can also cause stacking event. Stacking could be part of puzzle.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Stacking.html

Once crossover or check valve or mixing valve problem is solved, if you have really hot water to some taps, then turn down thermostat to avoid scalding.

No cold water

Anti Scald Valves have an adjustment under the handle (remove handle) to allow so much hot water in no matter how far handle is turned. Its possible that the adjustment is set to allow only hot water in, this of course defeats the purpose of anti-scalding. Check to see if you can adjust this back. Good Luck have a Great Day. Please give a 4 THUMBS UP if this free answer was of any help.

No cold water

Behind the handle there is a dial to adjust water temp cold and hot you can remove it and replace it a 1/4 turn til you can get both cold and hot. It is a anti scald it may have been put in wrong.

Make sure the cold water line is not blocked coming to valve and is open .

Not enough hot water in the shower even if I turn the handle all

Your valve has an anti-scald feature which automatically adjusts the water temp if cold water is diverted to another location, e.g., a flushed toilet, washing machine filling, etc. Most valves have an adjustment screw to allow you to set the temp. Since each manufacturer is different you'll need the manual or contact the manufacturers support. BTW, these anti-scald valves are being added to building codes in many parts of the U.S.

How to adjust anti scald valve on american standard shower faucet

Remove the handle, and all the trim rings, and the cartridge cover. take a flat head screwdriver and use it to lift
up the red ring behind everything, this is the hot limit safety stop,
this just stops the handle from turning to full hot.

Once you have the red ring lifted up, notice the numbers and the pointer
on the ring, numbers are on the fixture,

O= hottest 7=cold

See what the ring pointer is set to now, and move it half, before you put this back together, just set the handle on the unit and run the water to see if its to hot or not enough. Once you have found what is the best setting, then replace all covers and trim, handle.

My Moen Posi-Temp tub valve runs only very cold or very hot. whats wrong?

Your Moen valve is equiped with an anti-scald device (as part of the valve cartridge) which prevents someone from getting scalded by hot water if there's a sudden demand for cold water, i.e. a toilet flush, washing machine filling, etc. Fortunately Moen stands behind their products and will provide a new cartridge.
Contact Moen and describe your problem.
