I just bought some used equipment and had it installed. Jensen 300watt amp, 10" JL Audio sub and a Stinger powercap.
I switch the key to turn the cd player on, the light on the amp goes green, 5 seconds into a song the light fades too red.
Details...
The positive cable from the powercap to the amp as thick as a marker.
Im pretty sure buddy used a piece of speaker wire to hook up the ground from the amp into a bolt that holds a baby seat.
One time I had it working for a good 20min and when it was working, I couldnt change the song on the cd player, It would just beep when I press the button...
Could the deck be screwed? The amp doesnt have enough power? Does the powercap need to be charged, its used.
I tried grounding it between the bolt and the washer, but its just a speaker cable that is grounding it. Its a dodge neon, where would be a good spot to ground it?I tried grounding it between the bolt and the washer, but its just a speaker cable that is grounding it. Hey You responded to my post. I just wanted to let you know, after buying a platinum wiring kit and a cd player for my car, everything works fine, I wired it myself and it works great. :)

Yes they information available on them they are still around. You will need a class-D 300 watt RMS amp to run them at perfect power if i remember right they are 150 watt RMS,, 450 watt max per sub.// just never mind the max it means nothing. They are a 4 ohm sub i believe so you would want to get a 1 ohm stable amp. two 4 ohm subs can be run at 1 ohm wired in series. they are actually made by audio vox corp.to wire them is easy ill give a link to do so easy to use. and handy. let me look for some info on your sub...? Yes there is info out there here is another link. Need additional help give a shout. Rockford Fosgate Woofer WiringWizardJENSEN XS1010 Specs
It's possible the output stage(s) of the amp are blown. Check all audio wiring connections to the amp, input and output, to make sure nothing is loose or disconnected. Also, try wiring up a different sub to verify it isn't the sub that's bad.
It can but it'd be a waste for your subs. 1 of those by itself will handle that amp. it'll push them just not really hard, i'd recommend an upgrade to a 1100-1200 watt rms amp if you're gonna run 2 cvx's. if you only run one sub that amp'll work well...
whats the ohm rating of amp probally 4 what is the ohm rating for sub how many subs are you running how do you have them hooked up parallel or series is your wiring to amp right
the amp is no where near strong enough that sound you hear is called hard clipping and it will destroy your subs in minutes. depending on what model JL subs you have I can sell you a better amp.
depends what wireing kit you are useing.if you are useing say a 300watt kit then the fuse in the main power lead is normally a 25amp fuse, and this should be installed a maximum of 12 to 18 inches from the batery. hope this helps.
