Common Polaroid TV Problem-no picture but sound works
It seems to be a common problem with Polaroid TV's. stiv0 posted a fix for a different Polaroid model at: http://www.fixya.com/support/r741402-polaroid_flm_373b_lcd_tv_black_screen.
Could this be a possible fix for Polaroid Model 4241-TLXB? Should I buy the same capacitors? Thnak you.

it could be 2 caps on the power board, i had the same problem and for $3.39 at Radio Shack solved it.
There is a link on hre with pictures and instructions from stiv0, that works. Of course your on your own if you try it.
The following link posted by stiv0 gives detailed instructions on how to replace the two capacitors that commonly go bad on this TV. When these capacitors go bad they prevent the TV from turning on. However, you still get a red light when you plug it in. Since your not getting a red light I'm not sure this fix will work for you. I'd open up the TV and see if the capacitors are bulged out as described in stiv0 post. If they are I'd go ahead and replace them and give the TV another try. This fix is fairly easy to do and very inexpensive so you don’t have much to lose.
