How to reset admin password

Reset Windows 7 admin password is not hard in fact, as long as you follow these methods to do.

Method 1: To Reset Admin Password with Administrator Account
On Win 7 logon screen, click user and "Switch user" to choose another administrator to sign into. Turn to Control Panel and navigate to User menu. Choose the account you want to reset its password, and remove its password. And then set a new password for it.

Method 2: Reset Admin Password with Password Reset Disk
You have two ways to get password reset disk. One is create it when you still have the administrator password. The other is to create it with third-party software, such as Windows 7 password genius.

Similarly, on Win 7 logon screen, after type wrong password, click link "Reset Password" to go on. Or insert password reset disk into Windows 7 computer and boot it from disk. Windows 7 Password Genius runs, at the same time, all accounts and password list for you. Choose the administrator account, and click "Reset Password" to finish Windows 7 admin password reset.

How to enable the hidden Administrator account in Windows 7 and Windows Vista

Unlike Windows XP the administrator account is disabled by default in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Many people prefer to have the amin account open just in case they forget their main account password or to alocate admin rights over another user account like your childrens for example.

In the tip I am going to tell you how to enable the admistrator account so it is visible on the Welcome Screen.

These step only apply to Windows 7 and Windows Vista accounts that have admin rights, they won't work on an account which is limited or which is a guest account.

1. Click on the Start Menu.
2. Click on All Programs.
3. Click on Accessories.
4. Right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator. An Adminstarator Command prompt window will open.
5. In the command window type "net user adminstrator /active:yes" or "net user adminstrator active:yes"(with out the quotation marks)
6. to disable the admin account type in the command window "net user adminstrator /active:no" or "net user adminstrator active:no" (without the quotation marks)
7. Close the command window.
8. Log out of your account.

When you have logged out of your account you will see the Administrator account on the Welcome Screen.
If you don't see the admin account straight away all you have to do is restart your computer.

That should be it.

In which instnace, the original computer account holder also known as the compute administrator would have the only password capable of logging on at new power on. Attempt to provide the computer a password to ascertain the requested administrators instructures to retrieving program entry. The computer password can be reset only through the computer adminstrator account and then may available the second users computers files. Locked out of my acer aspire laptop and dont have a password disk can i get free help

Does the password come up instantly when the power is turned on or does the laptop load windows and then ask for your password?

If it loads windows, press F8 repeatedly while the computer is starting up, before the windows logo comes. Select safe mode from the list.

When the safemode loads, you will be presented with a Administrator user account, (XP and older) click on the administrator to sign in, if you haven't set a password to it you will be able to sign in and remove or change the forgotten password on your user account - start - control panel - user accounts.

If you have a password prompt that comes up instantly when the power is pressed on, there are few possible ways to get rid of it, The best being contacting your dealer or acer directly for the service.

If you are outside of warranty and you are willing to open up the machine, disconnect the bios battery for 20 minutes and place it back in, try starting up, some laptops may have a small switch to remove the password but it is very rare.

Because we can not never confirm that you are the owner of this laptop I will not give you further instructions, theres noting you can do to proof that your the owner of the laptop so please take it to acer or a local professional to get it removed.

Thanks

Window will not reboot after

try leave the password blank.
you know? When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account “Administrator” and sets its password to blank. So try to logon as adminstrator ,here is the guide:
Start system and when you See Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys Twice and it’ll show Classic Login box. Now type “Administrator” (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from “Control Panel -> User Accounts”.
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.
if that doesn't work, then just learn from others how to reset windows password with Windows Password Recovery Tool.

Lost user account

You actually probably created the new account as an admin. You don't really need to recover it. You just use this account as your admin account. You can then create another non admin account now and have everyone else besides the "admin" likely being you, can use the non admin account. All your files can still be found in "rootdrive:\Documents and settings\administrator
There you can find all your documents that you had in My documents under the administrator account.
Hope this helps,

Hello,

If you have forgot the password of the account with Admin rights, then you can boot into Adminstrator mode from Safemode and then you can reset the the password of the Admin irights account.

If you have forgot the password of the Admistrator account itself, then it is not possible to reset it.

As a workarund you can try booting with the Win 2000 prof CD.

Select R to enter into Recovery console. Thereit will ask for password, just press Enter. That should resolve the issue. I read this in hacking books and it worked to one of my friend.

Hope it works for you!!!
