Gateway M275 Tablet PC Questions & Answers
Gateway tablet screen does not respond to pen.
I have a Gateway CX2724 and previously had another Gateway tablet (model I don't remember) but they both look alike and use the same pens. I've had 3 pens and they all periodically stop working. When one stops, I pick up another pen and work with it so that makes me think the problem has more to do with the pen. (They have all died and later come alive.) Sometimes though I can't find the extra pen and have resorted to removing the working pen tip / nib and reinserting it very snugly after wiping off the shaft. The nib is held in merely by friction. You can remove it by pinching its little tip between your fingernails and pulling it straight out. I wipe off the shaft and put it snugly back in. Sometimes I don't take it out, but just press it harder into the pen by pushing it firmly onto a padded surface (so that the tip doesn't deform.) Usually one of these "treatments" works. I know that extra nibs are available with the pen. There must be some reason that the manufacturer thinks they may need to be replaced periodically. But I've never seen any documentation on this.

You dont have the correct drivers installed for the pen and button functions.. I need a email address to send them to... Mine is:
[email protected] or call me...740-404-6370
I have the same tablet and it took me 3 months to round up all the CORRECT drivers and get everything working.... BTW I could use a copy of the restore disk for mine if you could...

On the bottom of your tablet/PC you will see a COA sticker stating what version of windows was installed. You can download an image file from various sources on the web/torrents and install using your current license number. The drivers for XP are still available on the gateway website, however if you decide to upgrade to Windows 7 there are some advanced tricks you need to be aware of to install all the drivers, most of which are outlined in previous posts for your m275 tablet here on fixya. :) (I recieved 13 of these from a university science department that upgraded and have successfully re-installed both XP and win7 on all of them.)
Tablet will not charge or power on
Battery is probably dead. If it's to far gone, the tablet will not charge or work.
Also, try taking the OEM charger/chord (not some ebay or cheapo gas station charger) and plug it in overnight. It may suprise you and start to charge.

When I turn on M275 I get power light, hard drive
I have the same M275 tablet and was looking for a solution when I came across your post. I couldn't find a solution so I went over every nook and cranny of my tablet and found my hard drive was not completely pushed in. I pushed it in tried the power button again and it worked! I am shocked because my laptop has been down for a year now. I thought maybe it was a motherboard problem and it was junk. I'm so excited. Anyway all I can suggest is check that the hard drive on the right side is completely plugged/pushed in. I hope that works for you.
