Pushed button to turn on whirlpool - hear motor - jets don't work

We have had no problems with this whirlpool at all. Last night, I pushed the button to turn it on, could hear the motor but the jets did not work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If the motor just hummed then it is likely a bad motor. you will need to replace the pump at that point. Bathtub buttons like the one you have either works or they do not. there isn't any in between areas.

I came home I did not hear the pump working so I pushed the button to turn on the jets and they seem to work fine, but when I shut the jets off everything shuts down. Just humming coming from motor.

That is a capacitor. Replace it. If it blows another or hums like that, then get a new motor. Also, see if the motor shaft turns freely.

The problem you are experiencing tells me that the air switch in the motor most likely the problem.
This is a latching air switch that operates when the button on the side of the tub is pushed.
The replacement TBS-339 air switch is around $21

When I push the button on my american standard jacuzzi tub I hear the hum of the motor but jets don't come on

In my case I took the motor out and used a screw driver to turn the impeller in the front of the pump and the fins inthe back. Put it back together and it worked. I then used 2 tablesoons of dishwashing detergent and 1/2 cup bleach and ran it for 20 minutes to clean and degrease the impellers

The on and off button for the Jetted tub was pushed in and it stayed. What should be done to fix it?

if you can get to where the motor is..there should be a small plastic hose the inserts into motor...or plug...if you pull the hose off it should allow button to push out again

I pushed the on/off button on my whirlpool tub now stuck

The button is normally an air switch. It is attached to a hose that sends the air pressure from you pressing the switch to a pressure activated switch. This prevents you getting a shock since the wiring is at the motor.

First try using something that vibrates to free it up. Just make sure that it's not something that will scratch the button.

If that doesn't work you should have an access panel to the motor on your tub. Pull this off and look for a clear 1/4" poly tube going into an electrical device. Pull the tube off the pressure switch and blow into it to pop the air switch back up.

the air switch should be connected to a switch by the motor the air switch is ur on off and should run from the button to another switch by motor the air switches were put in so there was not live wiring by the tub surface ,the the tub button/switch is like a bellows and pushes air into tube to turn switch on/off

Bathtub Whirlpool button isn't working when pushed jets do not turn off...

It sounds like a bad air switch. This switch is located on the pump/motor, and is usually found at the end of a clear piece of tubing going to a box on the pump/motor, the other end of the tubing is connected to the push button on the tub. The replacement switches are avaliable through online parts companies. The best thing is to pull the pump and open the box with the switch in it. I have replaced the switch without pulling the pump/motor, but it is difficult and requires plenty of room. If you are not comfortable with doing this repair, call a reputable spa repair company.

Dryer will not start

IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH YOUR MOTOR HAS LOCKED UP AND FAILED. THE BURNING SMELL IS THE VARNISH FROM THE WINDINGS OF THE MOTOR. REPLACE THE MOTOR. THEY CAN BE HAD FOR AROUND EIGHTY DOLLARS
