Ram install I recently tried to add more memory to my ASUS A7N8X Deluxe motherboard. I was running one stick of 512Meg Corsair CMX 3500. I bought a set of dual channel 1Gig Corsair CMX 3200. If i install both sticks my comp keeps rebooting. With one stick it works fine. I have one stick of 512 Meg Corsair CMX 3200, that I tried with one stick of the 1Gig, and I get the same results. The manual says the board is capable of 3Gigs. I looked in the BIOS and it does not recognize the sticks as CL2 and the respective settings of the sticks, so I matched the settings but I still have the same problems. Any ideas?

Tried upgrading memory no computer doesnt boot up and no display

Things to try:

1. Check that your video card is seated fully (some are very picky about how they like to be inserted) and yours only likes only 1.5V agp cards. according to the manual.

2. Use one stick of ram. If you can get that working then add ram from there.

I have another old asus board that will only take one 512meg stick max, that is it. If i did add extra ram it occasionally would work for a few hours then ram errors again. The only ram that it liked was nanya for whatever reason.

System failed to boot when installing additional 2X 1GB RAMs.

you need to place them on your motherboard where the memory is installed. Place in the order of one new, one old, one new, one old stick. that way they run in dual channel.

ASUS A8N-SLI memory issues

imondeau, do you still have you're manual for the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium? Please turn to page 2-12 & 2-13.
Need the manual? Click the link below & download it.

The QVL; Qualified Venders List, shows all the tested memory for this board. Edge memory is not supported. This is why the Edge memory only runs by it's self. Once you add the corsair memory they clash because they are not compatible working together in this Asus board. Both sets of memory could work in another board. (Maybe)! What is also needed is if the corsair & edge DIMMs are SS = Single sided or DS = Double sided. How many chips on the corsair? How many chips on the Edge?
They must have the same total chips each each DIMM.

Edge does not sell memory compatible for the
Asus A8N-SLI Premium.
