Use an ohmmeter to verify the switch is working to the connector.

Switch failures and broken cords are not that uncommon. Test the EASY stuff first.

Beyond that, check for options regarding pedals in the setup of the unit in your user's manual.

How do I set my sustain to sustain on my privia px 555? My brand ne M gear will not sustain.

OK, first of all try this.
1) Connect the pedal
2) Turn on the PX-5S
3) DO NOT PRESS THE PEDAL WHILE THE KEYBOARD BOOTS.
4) Pedal should function normally
If the above procedure does not give you the desired results, then there's a few other things to check before sending it back for repair.
1) Back up all of your stage settings and try a factory reset.
If this works, then great.
If this does not work then
1) Back up all of your settings, reinstall the latest firmware, then initialize the keyboard with a factory reset.
If none of these procedures works, then you have some sort of hardware problem and need to get an RMA to return the unit for repair.

Casio Privia 410r Piano soft pedal problem

The Casio Privia 410r has two pedal jacks at the back. One is the sustain pedal, the other is the soft/sus jack. Please use the other jack if you want to use sustain pedal. Only 1 of the 2 jacks can be used.

However, if you have the optional sp30a pedal which plugs UNDER the piano instead, then only can you have 3 different piano pedals.

My casio privia px830 pedal doesn't sustain enough,

It could be that the electronics of the pedal are dirty, or that dirt has collected under it causing it to not depress all the way. Try taking it apart and cleaning it with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Be very careful of any wires or delicate articles.

I Have a Casio Privia Digital Piano and a Roland DP-10 pedal. The pedal function is inverted. When I press it stops the sustain and the effect comes back when I release the pedal. The pedal does not have...

Yep... Roland pedals are reversed, that is, normally closed contacts. Unlike some Yamaha keyboards, the Casio doesn't have an inversion function available. You have two choices to solve this: 1. Buy a pedal with the corect sense 2. Open the Roland pedal and MAYBE with a soldering iron you can move a wire to select a contact with the opposite sense.

I've recently purchased a Roland foot pedal for my casio privia px-300 keyboard. When playing a note, even though the pedal is not pressed, the note sustains. When I press the foot pedal down, it cuts...

Sorry, but Roland uses the opposite sense switch. They use normally closed where Casio requires normally open contacts. SOMETIMES one can rewire the pedal internally, but you have to be mechanically and electrically inclined to do that.

Hi, the sustain pedal on my Casio PX-830 has a constant squeak now after 6 months, any ideas on a fix for this? Thanks.

clean with q-tips and rubbing alcohol around the moving parts, let dry 5 min, and some graphite lubricant may help. graphite is a slippery dry powder good for reducing friction on moving parts. comes in a little tube, normally sold buy the key making dept at any store

Hi, the sustain pedal has a constant squeak now after 6 months, any ideas on a fix for this? Thanks, Elaine

If you caan get to the pivot point, try putting a little CRC226 on the pivot bearing and mechanism. You can get this in the electrical dept of Home Depot. About $2.70 for a can with spout. This is plastic safe. Use sparingly. Lube movement points.

Casio Privia PX-800: When using the sustain

Check if the cble frm the pedal MIGHT be flexing or pulling on the keyboard case when you use it. Such movement COULD vibrate the power connector causing your problem.

Make sure you have the right power supply for the unit as one with too large a hole for the power pin would be intermittent like this.
