1 Open the printer cover and prop it up with the support brace located on the right-hand side of the cover. It's similar to the way a car hood is propped open.

  • Step 2 Remove the black FINE ink cartridge from its container and locate the protective tape. Gently remove the protective tape used to cover the print head nozzles and electrical contacts.
  • Step 3 Insert the black FINE ink cartridge into the printer slot labeled "B." It will rest on a slight angle. Push the cartridge up and back until it clicks into place.
  • Step 4 Repeat the process for the color FINE ink cartridge, placing it in the slot labeled "C."
  • Step 5 Raise the printer cover slightly to loosen the support brace. Fold the brace inward and replace the cover to its closed position.
  • Step 6 A green LED light will flash on top of the printer. In about a minute, the LED stops flashing and displays "1." Once the "1" appears, you're ready to print.
  • Hope this helps...............Leadfoot44

My cannon mp210 is flashing E 1 6 what does that mean and how can i resolve it

E16 means that the Ink Level is unknown, if you refilled it somewhere it would cause this error to come up. The only way to make this go away is to disable the Ink Level Detection by holding Stop/Reset for button for about 9 seconds. It should now work properly but it will be unable to tell you the remaining ink level. The only way to get it to tell you this information would be to replace the ink cartridges.

When I Turn on my Canon Pixma Mp210 the error 6 pops up. I try to restart my printer, but it didn't help. What this error means and what to do?

    Issue: ERROR LED: E, 1, 6
Solution: Press and hold Stop/Reset button for at least five seconds

Clearing the Ink Error If you want to continue printing in this condition, press and hold the <Stop/Reset> button on the printer for at least five seconds, and then release it. Replace the ink cartridge and close the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover).

If printing is in progress and you want to continue printing, press the Stop/Reset button for at least 5 seconds with the ink cartridge installed. Then printing can continue under the ink out condition.

The function for detecting the remaining ink level will be disabled.

Replace the empty ink cartridge immediately after the printing. The resulting print quality is not satisfactory, if printing is continued under the ink out condition.

What is error e5 in mp 198 printer

E5 - The ink cartridges are not installed or a non-supported ink cartridge is installed , or the ink cartridges are not installed properly..

  • In certain models of Canon Pixma printers such as the Canon MP160 and Canon MP150, you may receive an E5 error when trying to print. In this state, you will not be able to use any of the functions of your printer. The error itself is an ink cartridge error. It may be that you are using generic or off-brand ink cartridges in your Canon Pixma printer. Canon Pixma printers do not work with other brands of print cartridges; invest in Canon brand ink cartridges and this should take care of your problem.

Printer will not print. New cartridges have been installed. Window showing the number 5 and the letter E. The printer is Canon MP210

E, 5 is a code that definitely indicates something wrong with the ink cartridges. Either improperly installed, not seated properly or wrong cartridge (not supported). One black and one color cartridge must be installed for the printer to function.
