La Crosse Radio Controlled Atomic Clock Logo

I live in Florida. My atomic watch has worked perfectly until a week ago when the nightly automatic calibration with Fort Collins stopped. Have followed the instructions faithfully. I moved the watch to another location at night and it successfully calibrated one night. Now it has stopped calibrating again. Could this be a temporary weather situation? Thanks.

It could be a temporary, weather-related, problem, or it could be related to a number of other factors: new construction in your area, a new RF source (radio transmitter, cell tower, etc.) in your area, etc. Your watch contains a small radio receiver, and determining the exact cause for its failure to receive the WWVB signal is nearly impossible. About all you can do is try the watch at different locations in the home, and you may have to turn it to face in different directions. Mine, for instance, syncs best when hanging from a drawer and facing in an east-west direction.

I live in Arizona. Which city should I use to set my global atomic watch to sync.

Atomic clocks have antennas that are directional and reception may be improved by turning the antenna to increase signal strength. Place the radio controlled clock along a wall or near a window that faces towards Fort Collins. Locate atomic wall clocks at least 4-8 feet away from computer monitors.

Match the hands to the digital time

Is it a wave scepter? Place it in the window facing Fort collins, with the 12 pointing to Fort collins. Keep it away from metal which interferes with radio signal. Put it in place in the window before going to bed at night. When it picks up the signal the hands spin to match corrected digital time.

Use internet net to pull up Casio manual, which is way easier to read than the tiny booklet.

How do I receive signal from ft Collins

The Casio wave scepter watches often got put on sale because the booklet was thick and the sales staff inside their steel shell stores could never prove how it worked. I bought 3 from Sears at a low price.
Ok, I am in northern ontario, and I set the watch around a non metal tube or box - like a paper towel roll or small pop bottle and set it on a south or west facing window ledge. Works best on a top floor. Position the watch so the 12 is pointing to Fort collins.
My casio at this distance doesn't pick up the radio signal until sometime between midnight and 6 am. It has a setting that reveals if it did sync and reset the time, and will show at what time it sync'ed.
casio watch manuals are available online. As long as you have set what time zone you are in, it will set the time.

I currently have a Relic ZR11971 automatic skeleton watch and earlier this week, I noticed that it had simply stopped working. The "Pendulum" will not move unless I swivel the watch back and forth a couple...

You watch is automatic , which means as long as it's on your wrist and moving it will run. If you have it on your wrist and shake it a little then stops , then it will most likely need internal cleaning. Unfortunately nowadays watch repair shops charge around $35 - $45 to do this task. That's the price here in Florida, I am not sure where you live. I hope this helps

Will not receive signal

If you are in the US or Canada the signal is coming from Fort-Collins, Colorado. If you are too far or there are atmospheric perturbations along the way, at the times the watch is in automatic receive , the watch may not receive a strong enough signal to synchronize itself with the atomic clock signal. The watch is not always able to do so.
Read the manual where it is suggested that you put the watch on a window sill, the dial facing outward with 12 at the bottom. Do not move the watch when it is trying to receive a signal. If you have a signal strength meter, orient the watch so that the signal is as high as possible.

How do i make the atomic clock work on my wireless thermometer?

The main clock need to be located close to a window.

Although the signals often pass through the walls of a house, they can also be blocked by the metal in the walls.

Also if the clock is located close to your tv or computer, the signal may be blocked.

Good Luck!

Casio Oceanus Atomic Setting

I also have an OCW-M700 and found the instructions that you download from the casio website good and perhaps easier to follow than the booklet, still does need some patience and but worth it in the end because it is a great watch. The manual time/date setting can be done fairly easily once you are in 'Timekeeping mode' (page 4, bottom right). The applicable download is operation guide 4749. Good luck. Also, you probably dont want to know this but for others out there - they sell for around 600US$ in taiwan if you can find a shop that stocks the casio upper range, taipei airport normally has stock at duty free.
