Hp 4480 how do you unpause it

The HP F4480 likely has a malfunctioning ink cartridge which is causing the printer hang (i.e. internal micro-electronics damage inside the HP 60 color or black ink cartridge). You can verify the electrical condition of both HP 60 ink cartridges by activating the Tap 41 diagnostic test report (see video here for complete instructions):

http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=440 (HP 60 - Deskjet F2400/F4400/F4500 models)
1.While holding the Power button, press Cancel (X) button 4 times, then press the Color Copy button once.
    2.Release the Power button.
3.The 'Tap 41' diagnostic test print should print.

Providing the color cartridge is partially functioning the Tap 41 diagnostic test print will be printed (this is a forced service print test which is mainly used for the evaluation of ink cartridge electrical health). A good HP 60/60XL color cartridge should display 1248 good nozzles, while a good HP 60/60XL black ink cartridge should show 336 good nozzles. If the results yield anything different then the ink cartridge is likely damaged and will need to be replaced. Refer to 2nd video on how to read the printout.
    http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=440 (HP 60 - Deskjet F2400/F4400/F4500 models)
    http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=444 (HP 60 - Deskjet F4200 model)

If the printer attempts to print the diagnostic test pattern (1 page) then the printer is generally considered operational and functional, if nothing is printed, but the printer attempts to print the pattern, then the tri-color ink cartridge is either empty, clogged or severely electrically damaged (black ink cartridge is not used). You can remove the tri-color cartridge, reactivate the tap 41 test and the printer will print the diagnostic test print in black ink.

Large ink spill. Printer no longer recognized new black cartridge.

You can perform the Tap 41 Cartridge Health Diagnostics Test: [applies to HP Deskjet 6800/6900/9800]
http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=1741 (refer to 2nd video to understand how to read the printed pattern)

1. With printer power on, press and hold the POWER button.
2. Press the Cancel (X) button four (4) times.
3. Press the RESUME button (Down Arrow) once.
4. Release the POWER button.
5. The Diagnostic Test Report should print.

--- A good HP 93/95/97/99 color cartridge should display 600 good nozzles, while a good HP 92/94/96/98 black ink cartridge should show 672 good nozzles. If the results yield anything different then the ink cartridge is likely damaged and will need to be replaced. Refer to 2nd video on how to read the printout: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=1741

---- If the printer attempts to print the diagnostic test pattern (1 page) then the printer is generally considered operational and functional, if nothing is printed, but the printer attempts to print the pattern, then the tri-color ink cartridge is either empty, clogged or severely electrically damaged (black ink cartridge is not used). You can remove the tri-color cartridge, reactivate the tap 41 test and the printer will print the diagnostic test print in black ink (special "ink back-up mode").

Kodak esp 5210 wont print black

I figured it out. If you are low on (25%) on either colors or black, then it won't print. Even if you load a new black cartridge and it reads as 100% black, it won't print because it will only print when BOTH cartridges have been replaced and reads 100%.
Same thing happens reversed with color being replaced.
So basically, ALL printers short you 25% ink and FORCE you to buy their ink more often. Kodak is no exception.
I have 100% black and 25% color and a BW only needed text paper won't print. I been through this before. *facepalm*

Replaced black ink cartridge, ink wont come out

If any of the ink cartridges need to be replaced the printer will not work. Also, if you are printing only black you will need to go into print properties and select black.

Hi i have a hp officejet 4355 all in one printer at my place. i m having problem fixing with the cartridge as it is showing error. pls guide

Problems with Hewlett Packard Officejet 4355 printing can often be due to issues with the cartridges. The printer has two cartridges, one black and white, and one color. Both can be physically inspected for problems. The printer also has a self-test report to determine if there is a non-obvious problem with the cartridge. The report can provide valuable information, including status.

  • 1

Take the black ink cartridge out of the slot on the right. Be careful not to touch the ink nozzles or the copper contacts.

  • 2

Look at the cartridge and make sure that the plastic shipping tape isn't still attached. There shouldn't be any tape covering the ink nozzles.

  • 3

Replace the black cartridge and then perform Steps 1 and 2 on the color cartridge. The color cartridge is the one on the left side.

  • 4

Print a self-test report. Load paper in the tray and press "Setup." Press "2" and then "4." The HP Officejet 4355 will print a report. Make sure the lines of color extend across the page. Missing, faded or streaky lines can indicate a cartridge failure. If the color bars don't show as black, cyan, magenta and yellow, you should clean the cartridges.

  • 5

Press "Setup" and then press "6" and then "1." The print cycle will commence. Allow it to complete and then print another test report. If the test still shows errors, replace the cartridges.

How to check the ink level onC4480 printer

To check the ink levels from the HP Photosmart Software
    1. In the HP Solution Center, click Settings, point to Print Settings, and then click Printer Toolbox.
NOTE: You can also open the Printer Toolbox from the Print Properties dialog box. In the Print Properties dialog box, click the Features tab, and then click the Printer Services button.
    The Printer Toolbox appears.
    2. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab.
The estimated ink levels for the print cartridges appear.

    Or

    Print a self-test report
    1. Load A4 unused plain white paper into the input tray.
    2. Press and hold the Cancel button and then press the Start Copy Color button.
The product prints a self-test report, which might indicate the source of the printing problem.
    3. Make sure the test patterns show a complete grid and the thick color lines are complete.
    • If more than a few lines in a pattern are broken, this might indicate a problem with the nozzles. You might need to clean the print cartridges.
    • If the black line is missing, faded, streaked, or shows lines, this might indicate a problem with the black or photo print cartridge in the right slot.
    • If any of the color lines are missing, faded, streaked, or show lines, this might indicate a problem with the tri-color print cartridge in the left slot.

My hp Color Laserjet 3550 Printer wont print black when it is out of color ink

The 3550 won't print in any color if any of the colors are out. You'll have to replace the color ink that's empty to get it to print.

In the future, if you're just printing black and white, you can select "Print in Grayscale" from the print properties to just use the black ink cartridge, which will help the color cartridges to last longer.

Unfortunately, many inkjet printers require all the cartridges to be present and not empty in order to print anything. An inexpensive solution would be to buy a inkjet refill kit and chip reset utility. (many cartridges are "smart" and require a reset in order for them to think they're full)

    Not printing black

Verification of color out – happens only after keeping the unit idle for quite some time.
    1. Print self-test report
    2. Are the cartridges out of ink – check ink levels
    3. check self-test report patterns (missing lines or streaked bars)
    4. Look for missing colors or ink smears.
    5. Was this issue showing up because of any one single color?
    6. Was it stored in a warm environment (Stored under direct sunlight?)
    7. Manual Cleaning & Cleaning from Driver
    Print a extended self-test report,
On the HP All-in-One control panel, press and hold the OK and Cancel buttons simultaneously and then release. An extended self-test report prints. You will get all the information of your cartridges. Good Luck
