Use a digital camera so "see" the Infra Red (IR) beam coming from the top of the remote. Try a few known good remotes with the camera to get the hang of it, then try the suspect remote. If you don't see the light, the remote will need to be replaced. If you see the light, the problem is with the IR receiver within the TV.

Changed batteries in remote fan still doesnt work hampton bay model uc7083t

If you're gettig a red light whenever you press a button on the handle remote, That means the hand held is working. There are also batteries in the receiver , inside the fan's cowling. They need to be changed too. Also, be sure the wall switch is ON. The remote has no control, if the wall switch is OFF.

Hope this helps and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Stopped working. replaced batteries and still

well 1st of all try to check if there is any corrosion on ur remote terminals if there is not try to check the voltage of each baterry also check if there is any corrosion but if not try to install the baterries back again and bring any mobile phone then try to see the video of the outout signal from the remote when u press and hold on any button on the remote at the same time u must direct the remote closely to the mobile phne camera so if u see the light of the IR LED then the remote works but the problem is from ur IR receiver on the device but if the IR LED is not blinking then u must dissassemble the remote and change the IR LED with new one or u must change the ceramic crystal

Griffin evolve remote not functioning

how did you take off the back to put in new batteries... try syncing your speakers by holding the 2 volume buttons on the base at the same time for about 2 secs.... the light will start to blink and you just click any button on your remote. If that doesnt work then its firmware

Lights are on all the time, fan doesnt work, remote does not work

I have changed the remotes on 5 Hunter fans in the last 3 months. They have a problem with how some of them mount, that makes them drop down and vibrate loose. If you do not have a wall switch for it, you may want to go to pull chains, or just replace the remote. It is NOT the controller you hold in your hand, but the part in the fan. (never the easy way right?) The remote is not hard to change, but you DO have to let the fan hang from the holder on the ceiling bracket, It gets too heavy to hold while you change the remote.
All but one of the remotes I have changed, came from a mass market type of builder/handyman store, and they have just replaced the part at no charge.

Remote not working at all

Check the fan and the remote to see the code switches are same. Sometimes depending on the age and humidity you may have to slide the switches back and forth to clean the contacts. Did it ever work? Are the batteries in the proper polarities? The fan and remote have to have the same numbers picked to operate properly.

How do we fix the remote?

Have you tried to insert the remote codes on there again? Some remotes might reset if you take out the batteries but higher end ones do not since they have an internal back up system.

Try the codes and if that doesnt work then let us know.

Otherwise make sure the press the correct "source" you intend to opperate with it. such as the DVD player on component, or DVR on HDMI, etc... Some times if the wrong source is pushed it wont work. But normally pressing it will fix the problem.
