Hello Freshnoble, hi! try first the sound recorder program, for testing purposes, if you are using XP, it goes, start, all programs, accessories, entertainment, sound recorder. Shout on the mic, you should see wave pattern on the sound recorder program. if not. the problem can be hardware and/or software. If its the hardware, check the microphone, is the mic built-in or are you using an external mic? if built in, try to enable first the microphone, right click the speaker on the lower right side of windows, select adjust audio properties, sound, at this point you should see the sound recorder device, select mic volume and adjust it all the way. test again the sound recorder. If you did not reach this point, there is some thing wrong with the device driver, load the sound driver first and test the mic again.
