Fridge and freezer appear to be working ok, I mean the fridge is cool and the freezer stuff is frozen. The machine is quiet and not constantly running, all seems fine but intermittently freezer temp display starts flashing and beeping as it goes through several series of temp changes from -17 to -25 in very rapid succession. It behaves as though someone were pressing the freezer button to change the temp setting ( only I promise you, no one is near the machine)!
Any ideas as to what is going on?
Seems that you may have a faulty temp control switch or it is stuck in position. Check this also make sure that the air vents are clear.
Thanks J
I had this same problem exactly, I took the controle panel off and disconneted everything, took out the circuit boards and examined them and all looked fine, no dry joints or whiskering. However the connecting plastic connector at the end of the panel that supports the Power switch was broken, cannot think how, I honestlty think they shipped it like that!
I cut a long wine cork and positined that to ensure the circuit board was held firmly that end and re-assembeled evrything and plugged the system in --nothing!
After a week of reseraching and making up my mind what to buy to replace it I idly pressed the power button as I passed, as i left the kitchen i heard the unmistakeable Samsung Beep! The damn tyhing is working and looks fine now, it has been for 24 hours but before I put evrything back in I will wait a bit longer!
So, you could try same as me?
I am suspicious of an underlying issue, certainly chek the ventilation is good, and maybe get a service call to check the gassing>?

The model is a Samsung SL36WJ1/XEU Fridge/Freezer and is about 6 years old.
I think it may be a switch problem but I took off obvious screws around the panel but the cover still seemed to be attached. Any help with getting front panel off so as I can get to the switches?
Also the intermittent nature of the problem concerns me. I understand how a switch might stick on after you've handled it but this is a switch which is rarely if ever used. It is used to set the freezer temp and I have always used the ECO switch which maintains the temp at -17.
I have also emptied and cleaned out the freezer and it doesn't seem to have affected anything.
The freezer is maintained fairly full but not overly.
Any help really appreciated, thanks
i have exactly the same problem - dit the suggestion of a faulty temp control switch cure it?
