Compac presario wont start up

Take out the battery and only hook up the AC Adapter. Try turning on your laptop and if you still only get a flashing power button then try another AC Adapter. If the same thing happens then that means the motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced.

1. Faulty RAM - try to remove, clean, re-align.

2. Remove battery, press power button for at least 30 secs. w/o AC power. Attach to AC power without

battery. power on. Hard reset

3. Faulty Processor - very risky of dismantling and aligning processor.

4. MOBO problem.

it is the problem of motherboard
open the laptop and
give controlled heat with blower to all the chip of motherboard

Remove the battery. Plug power cord in. Turn on machine. Does it boot? Replace battery.

try a different power lead and if doesnt work it sounds like the power supply has blown, had it on a few pc's

Check the Compaq/HP WEB site - download the latest drivers for the Windows version you are using. Sometimes the latest one does not work but the previous one will work. (I've come across this problem before and it is not confined to Compaq/HP)

remove battery plug in power...see what happens ...nothing happens press and hold power button until you hear response(shut down)press power as usual to boot.if it doesnt work first time try a few times more remember to keep power button pressed to shut down.

Top left button, above the keyboard, is Wireless On/Off.

If nothing happens, go to CONTROL PANEL / NETWORK CONNECTIONS. R-click on Wireless Network Connection. L-click DISABLE. Wait about 5 seconds, do it again and L-click ENABLE. That should reset the modem and get things going.

After you establish an internet connection, go to START / PROGRAMS / HP / HP (SOFTWARE) UPDATES and install the latest patches. They will include aa newer version of HP Wireless Assistant

start ur pc in safe mode. if yes then u uninstall the display adapter.then restart ur pc in normally.plz report the result

Had the same problem with My Compaq M700 No Boot Or Post. Battery Light Flashes 8 Times, Have to Wait 24 to 48 hrs sometimes longer to get Laptop to Start. Tryed the DC Converter Board Change No Difference same Problem. Noticed When Laptop Did Start Clock Time Was always a Little Off 2-4 Hours sometimes more. So Figure CMOS Problem With Time Issues. Read About Battery Memory Transitor Voltage spike Detection Issues Corrected With Newer Bios Flash at HP Supports. So I Flashed Bios With Latest 686h. During the First Boot After Reflash Battery LED Did flash No Start, After pushing the power button again it Started. And has Every since.So Far Laptop Now Boots Everytime and CMOS Checksum Seems To Keep Time Correct In Windows. The Bios Flash Corrects a Voltage Spike Detecting Transistor In The Charging Circuit. During First Start after flash Bios will run system test on the charging system and Correct CMOS. Worked for Me Hope this Helps a Few.
