How to replace the ignition spark ignitor for Maytag MDG9700AWW - Thanks.

Access to the igniter (part #35001100) requires the removal of the top cover, console, and the front panel. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Remove the top cover by removing the two 10-mm screws attaching it to the rear of the dryer then slide the cover rearward and lift it off the dryer cabinet. Take note of the notch in the top cover engaging the screw on the cabinet during reassembly.

Remove the two screws mounting the heater PCB board to the cabinet then disconnect the black and white connectors from the board.

Remove the four screws securing the console to the cabinet then rotate the console down and remove it from the dryer.

Remove the four screws securing the top of the front panel to the cabinet and the two screws at the lower portion of the door opening. Once the screws are removed, lean forward the top of the front panel and disconnect the interior light harness. Lift the panel to disengage the three tabs securing its bottom to the base of the dryer and move the panel away.

Disconnect the igniter harness and remove the single screw attaching the igniter to the burner assembly. Slide the igniter back and remove it.

Install and secure the new igniter then make sure to reconnect the harness. Reassemble the front panel, console, and the top cover by reversing the given removal steps above.

How do I remove a Samsung Dryer DV4006 heating element

You will NOT have to remove the drum, as the previous poster said. Unplug the dryer (VERY IMPORTANT). Undo the screws for the cover at the top right at the back of the dryer. Your element is here. Detach it from the cover plate. The undo the bottom cover plate so you can access the plug where the element attaches. You will need to reach in and manipulate the wire out of the clips (easy).
To put it back, just reverse what I've said.

Marty, you need to remove the front cover on these and most dryers by removing lower front kick panel screws, then remove the front cover and then you access the top cover screws to remove top cover then you can access th drum belt

I am trying to open my lg tromm dlg 5988w dryer to install a propane conversion kit. How does it open?

Remove three screws on the back holding the top cover, then standing in front of machine, use the palms of your hands to sharply push back on the L and R edges to move the cover back about 1 and a half inches, then lift cover off. Top cotrol panel is held on by a screw at the top corners and tabs along the top edge. Watch out for sharp edges. Remove control panel and place on top or dryer drum with wires still attached. Open door and remove screws at 4 and 8 O'clock positions, the the four screws along the top of the front panel. Unplug the light and door switches and remove the front panel. That should get you most of the way there.

I have Whirlpool Duet Dryer that has a noise.

It is common for small items (such as coins) to get stuck inside the dryer drum baffles. You can easily remove them without disassembling the entire dryer. The screws that hold them in place are located on the outside of the dryer drum. In order to access, follow these steps:

1. Unplug the dryer.
2. Remove the top panel of the dryer by removing the three screws located in the back of the dryer holding the panel in place. Once the screws are removed, the top panel slides back, then lifts off.

Each drum baffle has two screws holding it in place. Remove the screws and the baffle will drop into the drum allowing you to easily check inside each one.

Another source of dryer noise is something caught in the blower fan housing. You will need to remove the lower toe panel directly below the dryer door to access. Follow these steps:

1. Open the dryer door and remove the lint screen (the blower fan cover will not come off with the lint screen in place).
2. Locate the screws that hold the toe panel in place along the bottom front edge of the panel. HINT: Propping the front feet of the dryer up can give you better access to reach the screws (a 2x4 works well for this). With the screws removed the toe panel will drop down, then come off.
3. Remove the screws that hold the blower fan cover in place.

Inspect the blower fan housing for any objects that may be vibrating against the fan blades.

If you still need further assistance, please let me know. I hope you find this helpful.

Removing top from Whirlpool Gold Ultimate Care Model GEQ8858KQ0 Dryer

Here is the answer to my own question and for anyone else who may have a similar noise problem with coins , metal objects, etc getting under the vanes or fins in the dryer drum. DISCONNECT OR UNPLUG DRYER-Remove 4 screws from the back edge of the control panel on the back of the dryer. Then lift up on the backside of the cover that also has the control unit attached to it. Slide the top cover towards the front of the dryer and then lift up on front and lay the entire cover and control panel towards the back of the dryer. A wall works great to hold this out of your way. The control panel remains on the cover and the drum will stay intact. Rotate the drum to locate which fin or vane the object is located. Move this vane to top and then remove three screws that is holding the vane. These are course threaded screws that screw into the plastic vanes. a nu6t driver was required. After removing the vane I found a quarter, and a few lint balls, There are only three vanes in the drum, so take about 10 more minutes and remove all three vanes to clean out the lint.To reinstall cover slide the cover back onto the two clips(one on each side) push towards back, checking to make sure front is held down by the clips, then replace the 4 screws on backside of dryer. If the lady of the house is around, it would now be a good time to clean out from behind and under the dryer to get up the rest of the dust, lint, and whatever remains or was lost.

Sand from beach in my dryer

Unplug your dryer and remove the lower panel under the door. There a several screws under the bottom edge of the panel that you will need to remove to get the panel off. HINT: if you prop the front feet of the dryer up with a couple of block of wood (like a a piece of 2 x 4) it makes accessing the screws much easier. With the screws removed, the panel will drop down, then off. Remove the blower fan assembly cover (this is where the lint screen inserts into). NOTE: You will need to take the lint screen out BEFORE you remove the blower fan cover. There are as many as three screws holding it in place. The sand is probably caught in the blower fan ducting and is getting kicked up when the fan turns. Vacuum this area out and it should take care of the problem you are having. NOTE: Since you have the panel off, this is also a good time to clean and inspect your dryer interior and ducting. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.
