There should be a micro switch, down in the the paper tray,or feed, witch ever you have,it may be out of place,or not working. The machine may have to be took apart. This micro switch has to be engaged to be closed ,or connecting the circuit that allows the printer to recognise the paper is in the feed.I hope this is helpful, and if so,please let us know, thank you,and let me know.
That is the exact behavior the lights show when there's a manual
feed print job trying to make it through the printer. Any chance you
have a print queue active that has a hung job in it for the manual
feed? Before throwing it away, at least put some paper in the
'multipurpose' tray to see if anything prints.
The manual suggests that all lights will stay on solid if
service is needed, and since it will print startup pages, it shouldn't
be the paper transport.

Thanks for the ideas. As far as I can tell, I see nothing in the queue. I thought maybe I had adjusted it okay and it was working fine for a day, before it did it again this afternoon.
Any other ideas would be welcome. If not, is there something I should be cleaning?
Thanks again,
Chuck
