To answer your question: What you are seeing is the result of a bad video display board.
Just because we buy products new, doesn't mean they are exempt from defects. Hence why there is a warranty provided.
I recommend you use your warranty, and return this product for a replacement.

If the lcd lamp has been changed then the problem is with the inverter board, this board acts a bit like a switch to turn the lamps on, it is either a seperate board inside the set, although some lcd tvs have the inverter built into the power supply board, you will probably have to visit the manufacturers site for this information and they should be able to supply a board for you. hope this helps.

I would have to say you have a bad projection lamp!! They do NOT last forever!!! About 3000 hours is normal. If this is out of warranty--about $300 in--house repair or so.

It sounds like you have a bad Blue Polarizer in the light path. I'm sorry but that is something you will have to contact a service center for. It's not something you'll be able to do yourself, I'm sorry, but that's the best advice I can give you.

It sounds like you have a bad optical assembly. Depending on labor prices in you area you will likely have a repair bill somewhere between $700 and$1000.

Hard one to call as I have not seen the newer sony chassis yet BUT it sound like to me a fault in the PIP section if there is one or the crt driver circuit or even in the video jungle IC. It is only three months old so call the store where you got it as there should be a warrantee on the set.Good Luck
