    Oregon Number 29888

  • Anonymous Oct 28, 2009

Lets make a deal. Provide the real model number from the black and yellow tag that also contains the serial number, and I think I can provide more parts than you ever thought possible.

I broke a tooth on the sprocket that drives the chain

Sprockets are a wear item. Just like your bar/chain. Depending on the brand of the saw, it should be readily available as it is designed to be replaced easily and quickly.

How to replace chain on eager ****** chainsaw

Remove the side cover on the saw Should be 2 nuts on studs

Either in the front between the bar and the saw body or in between the nuts on the side is a chain tightener. Use a flat bladed screwdriver to loosen the tightener and remove the chain from the drive and the bar. NOTE the direction of the chain teeth.
Replace with new or sharpened chain Reinstall the side cover Install the nuts DO NOT TIGHTEN just snug to contact Adjust chain to where you can just pull the chain free of the bar at the center of the bar length Tighten the nuts
Happy cutting!

Where do I find a replacement chain for my McCulloch Eager ****** 2318av chain saw (model # 600038-12)?

Your friendly neighborhood chainsaw shop can fabricate one in about 5 minutes. Take your existing chain for use as pattern.

McCulloch.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/MCC/11-600038-12-EAGER-******-2316-SUPER-06%2F93-to-05%2F96-IPL-211318/139.11-600038-12-EAGER-******-2316-SUPER-06%2F93-to-05%2F96-IPL-211318.1.59.1.html
If original 18" bar.
part number(pn) MCC 21927533

Oregon Bar & Chain Selector (again original 18" bar)
http://www.oregonchain.com/commonpgm/Selguide_Selctmfg.asp?BusId=OCS&SellReg=USA&LangId=ENG&ShowRem=Y&ShowAnsi=Y&ShowQuality=Y&ShowCombo=Y&usertype=OCC
Your saw with 18" bar returns
Oregon pn 91VG060G.
This can be easily crossed to other manufacturers chain. You might consider a more aggressive chain (dependent on your level of expertise). HTH

Fuel line from fuel tank to throttle switch ? broke need to order eager ****** mini pro 2.1 ci 16 inch cant find part #er thanks for your time

On the bottom of your saw is a tag with the serial number (i.e. 13-24475) and model (i.e. 600093C).
An IPL number for any McCulloch parts source can be created using the hyphenated serial number and complete model number (i.e. 13-600093C) = “YourCreatedIPL#”.

Use the IPL number you created here:
M&D Mowers
http://www.m-and-d.com/parts.html

Click “Illustrated Parts Diagrams ON LINE”
Click “Click Here for Parts Lookup”
Changes to “Select OEM” Window reads “Briggs & Stratton ▼” Click the arrow and select “McCulloch Power”
Click “Gasoline-Powered Chain Saws”
Click ““YourCreatedIPL#”. HTH

Fuel Line Replacement by SmallEng.com

  • The hose in the tank with the filter on the free end connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  • If the saw is equipped with a primer bulb, the output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer (once the bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill as it inflates).
  • The pressure side of the primer returns displaced fuel to the tank as it is depressed.
Take lots of notes and a few digital photographs to help with reassembly. HTH

NEED NEW CHAIN DRIVE UNIT INCLUDING PLASTIC

The model 028 Stihl Chainsaw was in production for many years and the clutch drum sprocket (or chain drive) came in three (3) versions over the years of production.
For several reasons, it is best to take the saw to an authorized Stihl Dealership (Locate your nearest dealership HERE) for production identification, evaluation of cost-effectivness and availability of parts.

Reason 1) The first-generation 028 saw is approaching 30 years old.

Reason 2) Extreme heat caused by a locked chain-brake can damage the engine case and render the saw unfixable (part support is going away due to age).

Reason 3) The shear cost of parts and amount of time it would take for a DIY repair.

Reason 4) The plastic gears you mentioned are the drive system that make the chain's oil pump work. If the plastic is melted, the oil pump is likely to be damaged as well. In most cases the oil pump cover gets damaged ... the list goes on and on.

Genuine Stihl parts are not sold online and aftermarket parts would be a gamble. It's up to you to decide if the cost, time and effort are worth it.
Hope this helps.
