Cant get my hp PAVILION DV6000 built-in webcam to work.

try using a real HP driver yet?
downloaded from whom, most non HP sites are virus pits from H3LL.
know that first.
finding drivers for obsolete systems is super hard work.

Pavilion dv6000 (is that the full partnumber or the useless series number)? post the service tag for 10x better answers.
if at HP.com (where you should have gone first) they demand that first. that is because, there are 50 LT in that series.or more
and guess what they all dont use the same chips nor cameras.

carbon date,,,, 2006 ,2007?
just about 10 years old and support ends at 10 years old
XP is dead now for 3 years why run XP
XP must have SP3 loaded, service pack 3 or USB is no good and vast other things super bad.. (old old history that)

only this matters, see those xx below, all facts here matter.
1,2,3 , all do. to match drivers; to OS. just 1 example here of 1000
9000-ppec2icix4tk32ykqb2dko55-5-0.jpg here is the dead files on this LT
deep dead.
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-Archive-Read-Only/Windows-7-Upgrade-Guide-for-dv6000-dv9000-models/td-p/179816

if you read the real service manual on any HP laptop made
you learn fast there are vast variances in chips used.
and matching drivers same,
some have 3 -4 wifi chips different. in one model.
like this DV6000-1234, see that 1234, vast models exist.
world wide in fact.

The web cam does not work at all on either the quick viiew software although we have downloaded the driver it is not found

Activating the webcam
The drivers for the webcam are pre-installed and an HP Webcam 1000 icon displays on the desktop. Double-click on the icon to activate the webcam. The blue light illuminated next to the webcam lens, just above the LCD screen, indicates the webcam is on.

If double-clicking on the icon does not activate the webcam, do the following activities:

Click Start, then right-click on My Computer, and then select Properties.

On the My Computer properties window, click on the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
Click on the plus ( +) sign next to Imaging Devices and locate the webcam item in the device list.
If the webcam is not listed, do the following activities to install the driver using the webcam driver recovery.
Click Start, click All Programs, click PC Help & Tools, and then click HP Application Recovery.
Select Driver installation and click Next.
Select the HP Webcam 1000 driver from the list, and click Install.
If the webcam is listed under Imaging Devices but there is a red X on the icon, the webcam is disabled. See figure below.
Figure 1: Disabled Webcam Icon

To enable the webcam, right-click the HP WebCam 1000 icon and click Enable. The webcam icon should display on the Desktop.
Alternate locations for the webcam icon
If the webcam is installed but the icon is not displayed on the desktop, look for the webcam icon in one of these alternate locations.
Click Start, and click My Computer. The webcam icon should be displayed with the other devices. See figure below.
Click Start, and click Control Panel , and then click Scanners and Cameras. The webcam icon should be displayed with the other devices.
The HP Webcam 1000 does not install a listing under any of the All Programs menu.
Using the Webcam Diagnostic Test
To ensure the webcam is operating, do the following activities:
Right-click on the WebCam icon, and then select Properties.
Click on Test Camera under Diagnostics on the General tab.
The test should only take a few moments, but allow the test to complete operations by itself.
The result of the test, either “passed” or “failed”, will be displayed.

My in-built webcam is not working if i want to take pictures but

Your laptop uses Cyberlink's Youcam for it software and it is a free download from the HP Support Drivers page. It is a free download for HP users, all you have to do is fill out the model number of your laptop and click on the support drivers tab and all the drivers for that model will appear, scroll down to webcam and look for the webcam driver, you can also do a search on the support page for Cyberlink Youcam and the download will appear, it will just ask you for your model number. Good luck, Parrothead PC repair

Webcam drivers and application

Here's the page you need for the installation of the drivers:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-48406-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=1842155&os=228

I'm not exactly sure what application came with this, but you don't need it to use it in msn messenger or yahoo messenger, etc.

Good luck!

The Webcam will not load up

I recommend you to first check whether the Webcam is listed in the Device manager or not by following the steps listed below :

Click on the Start menu and type Device Manager in the search field.

Click on the Device manager link among the results.

The Device Manager opens in a seperate window.

In this, click on the [+] mark next to Imaging Devices to expand the tree.

If not, try checking under Universal Serial Bus Controllers as USB webcam.

Right click on the Webcam entry and select Uninstall.

Now, restart the Notebook and close an window that tries to install the Webcam drivers.

Download the webcam drivers from the link below for Vista :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34501-35000/sp34746.exe

Save the file in the Hard Drive and double click it to install the Drivers.

Additionally, you can try downloading Cyberlink Youcam application available with HP and is being preinstalled in all the latest pavilion notebooks to access the webcam :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp39001-39500/sp39372.exe

Save the file in the Hard Drive and double click it to install the Drivers.

You can find the instructions to test the webcam using Youcam from the link below :
