First check your tv if it has standby power. if it has standby power please do count the number of blinks of red led. (it is on a sequence) so that we can walk through the steps and procedure to get rid of the trouble. if theres no stanby power, its probably the power supply. please do check busted fuse and replace with same ratings.
If the lamp and standby lights are both flashing and the timer light is off, check that the lamp cover on the back of the TV is properly positioned in the groove and secured by the screw. Take it off and check that the screws that hold the lamp itself are secure. There is an safety feature that keeps the lamp from turning on when the lamp cover is off.
If the three lights (timer, lamp, and standby) are blinking, then the lamp needs to be replaced. If the timer and standby lights are blinking and the lamp light is off, then a cooling fan isn't working. When only the standby light is blinking and the other lights are off, the unit is overheating and a ventilation area may be blocked.
This unit shouldb e flashing a repeated count on the standby light. That count will indicate the circuit in which a problem was detected causig the shutdown. Please post that count and we should be able to provide details on the repair.
According to Sharp it is a software problem. Engineer came, installed software update ,10 minute job.....TV worked fine for 1/2 day unfortunately: Then images turned black and white in all channels TV turned itself off, and stanby and OPC buttons started flashing. When TV came back on its own 10 mins later , screen had 2 large square staines superimposed in image (as if it was a burnt screen)...Engineer will be back next week...all quite sad really for a new TV.....will keep u posted
Led blinking Three times means B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.
